AFL Live... too easy?

Now I probably play this game more than any mentally healthy man should but once you play for too long, legend seems to be way too easy. Am in no way trying to toot my own horn but I wanna know if someone has figured out a way of tweaking opposition team strategy when playing Single match or Competition mode which makes it a hell of a lot harder.

I seriously can flog opposition teams with Gold Coast even when playing some fringe players and some out of position. Give me a new challenge!

Stop using sprint and never punch the ball - definitely makes things harder. Other than that play the custom teams online or any number of the posters here, always a humbling experience.

yep online is the only place where you will get a challenge. Hopefully the next segment will have higher difficult settings

Anyone else found there is WAY too many stoppages, its always hard to get the ball out of ball ups close to the boundary line because its hard to get a quick kick out.

I made a team with every player except one on minimum stats and I have a full forward with 99 everything. I won by about 25 so I'm thinking of dropping him to make it even harder lol

Most video games get easier the more you play it. I play the game religiously, however, I still lose because I play a more realistic way.

My goal is not to go hitout > clearance > mark > goal > hitout > clearance .... like most people...no wonder they get bored.

I play real-life style. Chip it around, and I try to get to ten touches with every player (done it a couple of times now). I end up with realistic scores, realistic statistics, and therefore, i get more out of it

I find it easy, but as Gyroscope mentioned, It's always easy with unrealistic play style after a while.

I don't really lose any games but I have lower scores now because I focus on hitting a target with each pass, marking instead of spoiling, not just bombing forward and not exploiting the 'bugs' in the game

Exactly the same as me and doing this as GWS I actually lose a few games too. Trying to hit targets all the way up the field and trying to mark when in better position are the key differences from too easy to a good challenge for mine.

I play the same way. Spotting up players up and down the field instead of just going the long bomb all the time. When I play online I play against people who dont use their own custom teams and have great games.

Playing against f/wits who ride on the game deficiencies and bugs by using super powered custom teams, using the hip and shoulder and bombing it long I dont bother playing.

i hope they next update will have more jumpers for each team just like the 2007 afl game and more stadiums would be really good

Stopped playing offline after 2 weeks because I was winning by 50+ on legend each time.

Stopped playing online once they allowed players to use super, ultimate, unstoppable custom teams.

Before the stuff up that was allowing super custom teams though, the online gameplay and subsequent online matches to be had in this game reached the most realistic and epic of proportions. I really, really hope to experience this again with AFL Live 2 because I miss it more than any other gaming experience I've had in the past few years.

Does anyone know how to create the custom super teams where there is no salary cap restrictions to play online ? I can only squeeze in 12-13 gun players in my team but the teams I play online have guns everywhere....thanks

The amount of guernseys in 2007 was awesome. Hope AFL2 brings back more heritage strips.

Really? I just got this game a little over a week ago. I'm competitive with Legend, but can't beat it yet.. After a while, the forwards just get away and mark and kick stupid goals from the stupidest positions. Then I lose concentration and start losing the ruck contests and clearances.

You have to down their stats a bit I did this yesterday. Mostly all the players that don't ruck, turn down their punch and tap stats to 0. Also fill your bottom players with 100K players.

Tip for a harder experience try choosing a team in competition mode now when u start the match change ur controller to the rival team and go into team management and set their forward to attack their midfield to defence and their back line to defence and set their man up to in front and their interchange to high now change your controller back to you original team and set the difficulty to legend game should now be much harder

Its not easy when I play it, they always break tackles from the centre bounce and torp the ball from beyond the paint and always have it go through the goals

Yea sometimes the AI seems to go crazy last night I kicked 11 goals to 2 at halftime only to win by 20 points they kept me goal less for the second half lol

I play as Collingwood usually and Geelong can be hard to beat sometimes. There are times when the AI just run rampant. I was 40 points up in one game, they clawed back to the lead, I only ended up winning by 8 points.

But most of the time it is very easy as most sports games are when you get the hang of it.

Not true anymore, Fifa and NBA most recent iterations I haven't found anyone who says they are too easy. In the past it was true, but not anymore.

Meh not matter how good I get at this game it will always exploit the AI advantages and use them against you eg; shrugging 90% of my tackles and torping the ball 75 metres out into the goal but for some reason i can't stop playing it

While most matches are too easy - especially when you get a few goals up - I think there are definitely some times where the opposition gets a run on and you lose a quarter without being able to do much about it. I sometimes wish BA left a 'ultra super difficulty' in the game where the AI just plays with 100% confidence for the whole game. That would be a pretty interesting experience.
