All mature age recruits too and look at where that has got them, nowhere.

Essendon picked up Saad, Stringer & Smith, also mature age recruits and look where it got them ...... nowhere also.

Wonder why so many "experts" are saying Carlton need mature age recruits right now ??
Lol... both have won over 11 games Carlton have won 2.

Robbie Gray 7 disposals to QT, 3 since. Nightmare. I’m a massive fan but that’s shithouse.

On the bright side, Essendon have screwed up another year when they were actually good. Dodoro can win as many trade periods as he wants, but without inside mids (and maybe a ruck) it’s not going to happen.

Amazing talent, when he's on probably in the top ten players in the game. Just doesn't deliver often enough unfortunately.

Really? You do know once we got rid of Neeld we have been far far better. So if we picked up Saad, Stringer & Smith and not had Neeld for the whole season fair to say your story would be different.

What age do you consider mature?
Saad Stringer and Smith still have a good 8-10 years of footy left.

Bellchambers has been fantastic for us this year. As for inside mids, our young kids have stepped up and are really cracking in, we've been one of the best clearance and contested teams in the competition since the shitfight that was the Carlton game. That said we should still target one more gun mid, hence the big play for Shiel.

1/2 year of good, 1/2 year of equally terrible.

Add Daniher, Fantasia, Gleeson to this side.
Perhaps Shiel.
full season of what we're getting out of Parish and Langford.

We are here for flags, not finals wins.

Good for half a season. We were doggies level of bad early on.

Port & Essendon have just proven that bringing in mature age players doesn't always work why so why would we want to replicate that recruiting rationale ??

It doesn’t always end bad, it depends on team needs. Sydney made a habit of it for 10 years and it kept them in the running for flags.
