The Sydney Swans would like to announce that in the year 2004 the team will wear white shorts at ALL away games as compared to red shorts all year, we are very pleased to announce that Sydney will wear the heratige jumper that was a bit hit in 2003, a replecar of the old South Melbourne, at all away games.

The Sydney Swans would also like to announce that the club has signed a deal that will see us continue to play at least 4 games a year at Telstra Stadium for a further 5 years, the deal will net us $1million dollars a year for 5 years.
"The club as a whole is very pleased to annonce this venture as we believe it will broaden our supporter base and let more people come out and witness the exciting brand of football that we play"

The club is also seeking applacants for the vacant assistant coaching job

We feel that if we manage to recruit a CHB so it can lighten the load on Craig Bolton who has been fighting out of hi weight devision all of 2003 that we will be able to fixture in the top 2 in 2004, the club would like to make it known to all supporters that it will be aggresive and do everything possible to bring the talent that is required to the club, the club has targerted Matthew Pavlich as a trade.

The Fremantle Football Club: Press Release

The Fremantle Dockers are striving for ultimate prize in Football this coming season. We understand that the majority of our supporters are based here in Western Australia, and it is for this reason, that we have decided to stay in our lovely barren town, Fremantle.

That said, we also know how important our fellow supporters spread out across the continent are. Ergo, specialised functions organised by the MetroDockers, South Australian Femantle Supporters Group and the Gold Coast Docks are currently being planned, giving our diehard fans across the country a chance to meet and talk to their favourite players and the coaching staff. On top of that, an exclusive membership package for interstaters is being released, giving each member a free plane trip to WA - at any stage during the season - to watch the Dockers battle it out on Subacio oval. The membership package will also comprise of a monthly magazine, badge and membership card, entitling each member entry into 15 games. 12 games at Subiaco (one complementary flight included) and 3 interstate games of choice.

Fremantle is not a football club, which takes kindly to mediocrity, inefficiency and ineffectiveness. Therefore, it is our perogative to improve on our previous season. We are expecting nothing less than two finals appearances, with plenty of young talent being revealed throughout the season. Players who do not comply with the rules, and who slow the club's development down, will be delisted or traded to another club. This is a new era for the Fremantle Football Club, and we are only interested in success.

Our main aim is to become one of the powerhouses in the competition, rivalling the traditional clubs.

If you would like further information on the Fremantle Football Club, or anything discussed throughout this press release, please contact Judy Clifford, or myself by e-mail.

Details for contacting the club can be found on our website.

West Coast Eagles: Press Release

The West Coast F.C would like to announce that they will be reverting back to their original guernsy on a full time basis, and scrapping their current home and away strips.

"This was the jumper we used when we first entered the league in 1987, and it's the jumper which was worn in our glory years, 1992 and 1994" said new coach Blueworms.

Blueworms also told the crowded press conference that their home base will most definantly be in Perth next year and the years to follow, where he feels they own the city in their own right.

"The West Coast F.C was born in Perth, and this is where we will be stationed on a permanent basis. We own this place, we don't see a need to travel around the country promoting ourselves. Although maybe the Dockers should do this, they don't have the history nor the silverware to compete in this one team town. What a rabble of a football club. The anchor would have to be the gayest emblem in the history of the AFL. They can get ****ed, we'll prove who's number one come the Western Derby."

Blueworms also hinted that a big name will be sacrificed in the trading period for a quality key position player.

"I won't name names at this stage, but a big name or 2 won't be at this club next year"

The coach also said that he's preferred weekend for the national draft is from the 19th-22nd.

"I don't know about other teams, but my team will be at the cricket getting ****ed on Boxing Day, and will be on holidays in the new year"

Mr. Blueworms - WCE Coach

Brisbane and the AFL ceo also agree

Collingwood Press Release

Following the CFC's first press release media pundits have questioned Collingwoods list and its tradeablility. It has been said that Collingwood dont have enough to trade for a high quality player.

In response Collingwood Recruiting Manager Matthew Kee has issued this statement. The CFC is officially after good midfielder and good forward. With the recent press release of the WCE Daniel Kerr has attracted interest from both myself and Mick Malthouse. The CFC is prepared to trade a big name during the trade period. These include Tarrant,Rocca,Burns etc. All of our drafdt picks innthe national draft are available. We have a list of players of which will be no required by the club next year. They will be delisted or traded by the end of the year. Make no mistake even with our tight salary cap we will be very active in the Trade Week.

As a correspondent for the Fremantle Dockers, it is my duty to deliver the following message.

The 19th - 22nd of Decmeber is an adequate timeframe for the draft to take place.

We look forward to it.

Geelong Press.

The Geelong Football Club has told "The Geelong Advertiser" today that they are looking forward to an active trade week but are waiting for the AFL to make all player Values public before the start of trade week at 9pm tonight.

Geelong football operations manager Dave "Cornflakes" Parr was heard saying "If i dont bloody well get my list soon we may well be talking to the players union about strikes. This just isnt good enough from a major institution such as the AFL. How are we supposed to be ready for trade week when we dont know what our player cost... i tell you..."

On a similar note the geelong football club indicated it will be picking up the young Falcons ruckmen "Mark Blake" under the Father son rule.

Sydney Swans Press Realese

The Sydney Swans are pleased to announced that Terry Daniher has signed a deal with the club that will see him as a assistant coach for the next 2 years.
With the appiontment of Daniher the Sydney coaching staff is in place for season 2004, with Daniher joining head coach Paul Roos, Peter Jonas, Steve Malaxos, and John Longmire
Roos seemed very pleased with the appionment, saying "Terry will bring a tremendous amont to the club, being involved with clubs such as Essendon & Collingwood, these types of people don't grow on trees, so we are extremly happy that Terry will be part of the club next year and hopefully beyond."
Daniher beat out stiff competiton such as Tony Liberatore, Craig Bradley & Marcus Ashcroft for the job.

Roos also used the press confrence to put to bed the constant rumours that Sydney will be moving back to South Melboune," look mate, you can't stop people talking but as far as I and everybody involved in the club is concerend it would be a move backwardws for the club after all the hard work done to introduce the game in to NSW, it would be stupid, not even a consideration"
Roos also made it clear that the Swans are in the market for a quality ruckman, as usual he remaind tight liped but when asked if Dean Brogan was high on his list of recuits he was quoated as saying "of course, he is one of many"

it is rumered that the Brisbane Bears are very keen to take the services of adam goodes and targh kennelly. when Reynolds was questioned about it he replied "who isnt you wombat"

Fitzroy Football Club Press Release

Dec. 9 2003

The Fitzroy Football Club wishes to strongly condemn the Brisbane Football Club's decision to change the club's name to the Brisbane Bears. We hereby withdraw our support for the merger and call on all Fitzroy Football Club supporters, that are 2003 members to withdraw their support for the Brisbane Football Club and not buy a membership for 2004.

We can now announce that the Fitzroy Football Club is now debt free and has a war chest of several million dollars, which has slowly been building up since 1997. In the interests of our supporters and with the committment of preserving our 120 year old history we shall be pursuing a possible re-entry into the AFL.

Kevin Murray, Fitzroy's greatest ever player has also withdrawn his support for the Brisbane Football Club. He has requested that his name be struck from the Merrett-Murray Medal, the Best and Fairest Medal medal awarded since 1997.

Former Fitzroy players and officials have been outspoken in their condemnation of the move. President of the former "Fitzroy-Brisbane Past Players and Officials Player Association, Arthur Wilson was scathing in his comments calling the name change a disgrace and a betrayal of all those who loved Fitzroy.

The Fitzroy Football Club have also called on the Brisbane Football Club to immediately return all Fitzroy memorabilia to the Fitzroy Football Club or face legal action.

We expect that this move will cost the Brisbane Football Club approximately $1.5 million in lost revenue per annum, as well as having aa significant eeffect on their Victorian on-field performance. We expect also that Victorian membership of the Brisbane Football Club will fall to that of former club the Brisbane Bears of approximately 100 members, instead of the 5,100 members they currently enjoy.

We find it difficult to believe that once again the Fitzroy Football Club has been shafted by the AFL. We suppose that when the CEO of the AFL is also in charge of the Brisbane Football Club, that there is a significant conflict of interest.

We call upon the CEO, Mr. Reynolds to resign immediately as either CEO of the AFL or of the Brisbane Football Club.

You've not heard the last of this!!! Stay tuned!

Spokesman for the Fitzroy Lions Football Club

Fitzroy Football Club Press Release

Dec. 9 2003

The Fitzroy Football Club welcomes the move to re-instate the 'Lions' emblem, in the face of what would have been a huge backlash from Brisbane Lions members.

We now seek assurances that the Brisbane Lions will not change their existing jumper in any shape or form. We call on the Brisbane club that the "Lion" will prominently appear on the jumper and the colours will remain maroon, blue and gold. We also oppose the re-design of the jumper in any shape or form.

Moreover in the face of this blatant attempt to betray the Fitzroy constituency, we call upon the Brisbane club to increase the Fitzroy component of the Brisbane board from two to four Fitzroy representatives on the board, in order that the conditions of the merger be fully met

Failing our demands to be met, we will immediately begin to seek a merger with a Victorian based club. We invite submissions to merge with Fitzroy.

Roy Leon
Fitzroy Football Club spokesman.

ST KILDA PRESS RELEASE

The Saints have had a massive boardroom shakeup before the start of the upcoming season. Nathan Burke has decided to hang up the boots and step in to the vacant assistant coach job. This decision has angered Dean Wallis, and he has walked out on the club, he wants to go back to the Bombers. Terry Wallace has been installed in Wallis's former position. In the major change, Grant Thomas has stepped aside from his head coach role and has reverted back to his old post of Football Manager. Mr. Dascman has been appointed new coach.
"I feel Dascman was the better man for the job." Thomas beamed.
Thomas also was very vocal on the subject of trading. "We will trade very aggressively. We will look to add to an already strong list."
And with Dascman's arrival, he has scrapped the much-maligned rotating captaincy, much to the dismay of Thomas, and Aaron Hamill has been installed as the full time captain.
So here is the list of the front office/coaching staff at St Kilda for the upcoming year.
The Saints also request that the draft be held from the 2nd to the 5th, as the team plans another end of season trip overseas during the other two dates.
President - Rod Butterss
CEO - Brian Waldron
Football Operations Manager - Grant Thomas
Coach - Mr. Dascman
Assistant Coaches - Matthew Rendell, Terry Wallace, Nathan Burke
Captain - Aaron Hamill
Leadership Group - Aaron Hamill, Lenny Hayes, Robert Harvey, Max Hudghton, Nick Riewoldt, Stephen Powell.

The Saints also request that the draft be held from the 2nd to the 5th, as the team plans another end of season trip overseas during the other two dates.

Mr. Dascman.

Please dont hesitate to contact me at dascman01@hotmail.com

the brisbane lions will not in any shape or form give in to those demands, we beleive in pride of our joint history and wish to carry this through. but in oder to move on the club and supporters must recognise that to get appointed to the board they must deseve it. not just throw away crack pot lines.

West Coast F.C Press Release

After much speculation, the West Coast Eagles have announced that star midfielder Daniel Kerr is unhappy at the club, and has made a request to be traded. The rumour going around is that Kerr was caught by Chris Judd having sexual relations with Glen Jakovichs' wife. It is believed the incident occured while Jakovich was playing in the recent International Rules Series against Ireland.

The Eagles, surprisingly, saw this as a personal issue and weren't going to repremand Kerr, but Kerr thought it was best that he make a request to be traded.

Eagles coach Mr. Blueworms had little to say about the issue.

"At this stage I'm not willing to go into great detail about the issue, all I can confirm is that Daniel has made a request to be traded, and where not going to stand in his way.

"However, Daniel is under contract with us for next season, so if a suitable trade can't be arranged he will remain with us for the coming season.

It is believed Collingwood and Sydney have shown interest in the 20 year old midfielder.
