afl - Vic Metro vs Vic Country

Was thinking about how every year NRL clubs have a city vs country clash. Would be interesting if they did this for AFL. Both team would have something to play for and the amount of talent on Victoria would make for two exceptional teams. Of course I am aware this would never happen considering they won't even do state of origin.

Don't know if you can really consider living in Geelong as Vic Country. I've lived in country towns and Geelong is no where near it.

Last time i checked Geelong was not metropolitan melbourne, we all know its not a country town, don't take it so literally. "Country" is very losely used term to describe areas from where players come from for this purpose.

Can someone tell me why Dale Thomas keeps getting mentioned in squads/teams like these? Surely he has to be having a good year to get named. Sure he does some nice things but still a fair way from being mentioned with those named above.

As for Jamison being named. While he has been good for the blues this year, long way from being in a team like this.

Where you draw the line is an interesting one. The Geelong leagues are in the VCFL and would be considered part of Vic Country. Trent Croad comes from Narre Warren which also falls under the VCFL umbrella, even though we all know Narre Warren is not a country area at all, would you play him in the Country side or the Metro side?

Niether Dale Thomas or Josh Frazer should make the team, surely there are players having better seasons than them. I couldn't believe they made the squad for the Vics Vs Alls-Stars game and Fraser actually played.
