Curious where everyone's feelings are on this.

The competition is starting shortly, there are eight clubs, and we aren't one of them.

And it would appear it is likely Richmond will not have a side in 2018 and may be passed over if only two more sides are added in 2019.

Will you follow it at all?
If the answer is "no", would that be different if there was a Richmond team in it?
If the answer is "yes", who are you expecting to support?

It would appear - after the AFL gave Richmond a "provisional licence" (the equivalent of "every child gets a prize even though we know they are shit") - Richmond has done little, if anything, to suggest the club is even interested in establishing a serious effort. Meanwhile Hawthorn - which did not bid - has a women's VFL side up and running.

More interested in VFL and SANFL personally, but would maybe watch a bit if tigers had a women's side. However, given the tigers form I'd rather see the money being spent on the Richmond men's side rather than the associated costs with establishing a female team

Don't have the time or money to support another team.
It was the best thing that happened to the club not getting a Women's team bc we have had 34 years of struggling to run a blokes one. If it happens in the future good luck to them as I won't be there due to family money and time.

Will probably pay about as much attention to it as I do Victory's women's side.

Good luck to the girls, will like on FB if they pop up and win and would go early to a game if they are on beforehand. But won't be doing any of that til we get a tigers side.

Its a gimmick.
First year they will get reasonable crowds account the curious nature of it all.
2nd year will taper off.
3rd year the AFL to save face and have them aligned to the mens fixture and become the "reserves" game.

Remain positive as I never expected to cheer for Ian Bell in a Scorcher's outfit .

pretty much the same with me,

i already go to 2 AFL games a week and watch countless more on TV, off-season is the time for me to have other interests and activities for my weekends

North, but she doesn't go to games - works function rooms at Etihad

I'm the only tiger in my family so i go to their games
I got invited to go to Boomers 427000000 th game by a very good friend. I couldn't believe the lack of atmosphere . I'm not sure if it was due to feeling out of place bc it was a non RFC game , but I made excuses not to go the next time he invited me.

The game was such a let down. Didn't help that Boomer had a stinker.

Have as much interest in women's football as I do in softball.

Good luck with it girls!

However obviously the afl is pushing hard the merging with the men's in the media. At the moment I can easily not click on the links, and as I IQ AFL 360, I can FF through the women's segments just like when other media people I have no interest in come on.

There are so many girls playing now and women who have been taken to games as girls by dads, and now taking son's to games to play, the womens comp. will grow with this interest.

Richmond having a team though would not change my interest one bit.

No interest at all, might watch a qtr here and there but the standard will be poor IMO and there will be thrashings.

If they add more teams then the talent pool will be further diluted and the standard will drop even further, will be scrapped after 3 years IMO when the novelty factor wears off, lets see how the comp goes in 2017 when the AFL practice matches start and everyone reverts to watching that instead of the womens league.

I won't be following it as the standard is just too poor. If I want to watch shit footy, I'll go and watch the ressies in my local comp.
However, I do wish the women well and the only way to improve the standard is to play more, which I am sure will do just that.
I really hope it succeeds. But I won't be watching any of it.

I'm excited. I'll be supporting the Bulldogs until the Tigers get a team. I'll be at Whitten Oval next Saturday watching them flog Freo, with my daughter, who is finally interested in footy, after years of indifference.
