The interview Riley Beveridge had with Phil Harper on the trade deadline show was a train wreck.
Beveridge: I bet you're glad to have lost Prowse
Harper: We aren't pleased to have lost her...
It's a done deal just waiting for the info
Sounds like we gave up an F2 as well.Pick 17 and a future 3rd for Boileau...I think
Sounds like we gave up an F2 as well.
I can understand letting Hatchy go if we think our window is closing, but losing young talent hurts (especially when you're not getting premium returns).
Egan looks solid, but with some deficiencies.
I think we've got a few years of pain incoming.
I'm not convinced.
The big loss is Prowse, who will be difficult to replace.
I don't think the gap between Hatchard and Egan will be all that large comparing 2025 output. Hatchard's best days as a midfielder are over.
Boileau was a role player for us and we should improve by replacing her with pick 4 in the side. We're also getting two first round picks on top of that to strengthen our talent and role playing spots. And Gold Coast's high future 1st.
I think it's the right move and I wouldn't be surprised to see us perform around the same mark next year, while improving our squad for the future. Four first round picks including two very high ones is excellent for our talent and will leave us in a stronger position IMO
No deal reached for former #1 pick Weston-Turner, she's off to the draft... ouch.
Can anyone explain why we did this trade?
Makes no sense to me, especially if we are looking for picks at the top end of the draft in mini rebuild
Adelaide Crows receive:
a second-round pick (currently No.21) and a third-round pick (currently No.39)
GWS receives:
a 2026 first-round pick (tied to Adelaide)
If we ignore picks in the 30s then we gave up 14, F1, Hatchard for 4 and F1 (GC).Helped with the Hatchard trade to secure Gold Coast's high picks
