Yeah, read that on the AFL site.
Surprised about Charlie tbh, he's already one of our best and fittest players. No need.

Zac Fisher: This is a game built for speedsters and should suit Fisher down to the ground. He has built himself up in the off-season and his explosive pace will be an asset. Another to watch will be Jarrod Pickett, who has taken it up a notch or two this year after showing impressive glimpses last season.
Definite starters: Charlie Curnow, Zac Fisher, Jarrod Pickett
Definite outs: Sam DochertyDarcy Lang, Sam Rowe, Alex Silvagni

I disappointed that we're not treating this with the disdain it deserves*...
*Where's Nick Graham?
Oh no, I know what they're aiming for, I just don't care.Pretty much every media release or comment includes the description “fast pace”.
I think that answers your question...

To avoid the fines for not showing up.2x10 minute halves? Why bother.
T20 is played on the same ground with the same number of players. All it has done is speed up the scoring rate because there is less time to bat so wickets in hand is less important. Fielding and short bowling restrictions has encouraged scoring from ball one. The game is fundamentally the same.Easy to be cynical. A lot of people thought 20/20 was a joke, but it sure has pulled some crowds and $.
If the AFL could attend to their grass roots supporters better as well as promote AFLx, I would be happier. (Cough Tassie, Cough Fitzroy, Cough a million other things)
Exactly. The fundamentals of cricket are the same. What’s been forced on the teams in the t20 format is drastic tactical changes. Aflx is just a different sport.T20 is played on the same ground with the same number of players. All it has done is speed up the scoring rate because there is less time to bat so wickets in hand is less important. Fielding and short bowling restrictions has encouraged scoring from ball one. The game is fundamentally the same.
AFLX has changed the number of players and the shape and size of the playing arena. Time will tell if it is recognisable in the new format. Smacks of making the game 'suitable' for overseas grounds for the next stage of expansion into new markets.
Not yet but one day.I like the fact that it's evolving, lots don't, I get it.Pay to see AFLX? Surely you jest Gilly
