Easy to be cynical. A lot of people thought 20/20 was a joke, but it sure has pulled some crowds and $.

If the AFL could attend to their grass roots supporters better as well as promote AFLx, I would be happier. (Cough Tassie, Cough Fitzroy, Cough a million other things)

Don’t really think it’s the same, odi cricket was/is dying and T20 cut out the BS.

Rugby 7's similar to the proper game with modifications to suit smaller teams, has been played for over 100 years.

AFLX, we used to play a version of this at training, we should have put a copyright on it and sold it to the AFL. Rectangle field, zoned, make up the rules as you go along. Much the same as the AFL.

I'm in a similar boat. Not really looking forward to the competition, but I am keen to see some of our new recruits so I'll probably set it to record and give our games look on the Saturday morning.

It may well be junk and if it is, let's call it out as being the case, but surely not before we know how it will look.

I'm looking forward to see how the likes of O'Brien, Dow, LeBois, Polson and Kennedy handle the ball.
Also looking forward to the speed of Pickett, Fisher and Cuningham, if the game allows them the run.

I'll be there. $10 for a night of footy, 6 clubs participating and a variety of young Blues on show.

I'm not expecting it to supplant or replace the actual game, but for someone who can't get to open training sessions, this isn't a bad option given the time of year. And with 6 teams playing on the night, it's actually a good opportunity to get a few friends and family who support those teams going along together.
