After the bye

🥰 Love BigFooty? Join now for free.

We got a tough run after the bye with the Swans at the SCG.

then we got tough home games against the hawks, blues and Eagles. Im hoping we win all three to be having 11 wins with 3 games to go. I dont rate our chances against Saints at Etihad.

Our last 3 games...
rd 22: North at Etihad

rd 23: Collingwood at Subi

rd 24: bulldogs at Etihad

I will be scared if its between the Dogs and Freo fighting for that 12th win to pinch 8th spot by the final round... we would likely lose.

If we're fighting for 8th spot in round 24, then chances are we're playing pretty ordinary footy so it'd be a tough ask.

But it's not like we've got any unwinnable games left, like Geelong in Geelong or Collingwood at the MCG. Sydney in Sydney is probably the toughest, and it's not out of the realms of possibility that we could jag that.

I'd rate St Kilda at Etihad the toughest to win, then the Sydney game.

We haven't played at Etihad this year yet, have we? Talk about going from one extreme to the other. Given we had a number of good performances there last year I'd fancy us beating one or both of the Kangas/Dogs.

We've got absolutely no hope of beating the Roos imo. I'm calling it now, we'll put in one of our pathetically predictable big-girls-blouse games where we don't show up to play and get thumped right from the start.

Dogs I think we'll put up a fight but fall away in the 3rd or 4th qtrs.

Give it a year, I'm forward thinking, ahead of the curve type stuff here mate. You're still in 2003 thinking Dunn is going to pay off.

Funny stuff from the guy stuck in 2007 still thinking Mundy is playing uncontested footy on the HB line.

Yep, we should beat Sydney

I think we can do an '06 and just stream through

If not there is always the slim chance of (i feel dirty for saying this) the eagles finishing top 4 after the hawks drop off and we get a home final in 5th/6th. we win first week, they lose first week and we play off at subi

saves a trip to melbourne for an EF meaning we are fresh after the win

If both the dogs & Roos lose this weekend which they will ,it's season over.It will make it a degree easier for us to get the points.

I just want to know how Memories knew I was still crying about Riley Dunn being delisted.

I ran into Ryley Dunn the other day in a display home (Affordable Living from memory). The entire time I was speaking to him I was thinking that I knew him from somewhere. After I walked out the front door and read his business card I had a chuckle to myself.

He's the perfect example of someone who just didn't have a body capable of handling an AFL workload. He also had a couple of run-ins with WAFL heroes that thought it was funny taking out AFL listed players when he first came across to WA.

As an aside, Ryley kinda looks like Matthew Richardson.

I thought it was a shame. I thought under different circumstances he would have been a pretty good AFL footballer. The last injury he got before he was delisted couldn't have come at a worse time. Guess that's the way the chips fall. Looks like he has just gotten on with his life which is good.

He got a last chance game just before he was chopped, not sure against who, but he played pretty well. It's a shame he didn't make the cut, I liked him as a footballer.

Thought he played a great game but missed a couple of soda goals. Would have been ideal for harvey, a guy that offered a lot of forward pressure and could also have a run in the midfield and win the hard ball.

I always saw him as the ideal replacement for Hasleby. Shame it never worked out that way.

After the bye we play the swans then the eagles.A win against the eagles will probably make our chances of playing finals ,very good IMO.With harvs watching on from the stands last nite, plus being good mates with Chris Scott.
One would hope harvs will have gained a greater understanding of combating the eagles press. In last nites game, the cats after half time appeared to go man -on-man over the entire ground which helped them to get back in the game.An even bigger impact seemed that when the cats were kicking out they were still man-on-man,which seemed to confuse or alter the eagles press.

I'm doubt we're capable of matching the Eagles physically. They're playing hard, tough footy and we're currently playing soft, zonal footy. Man on man we'll get flogged.

What's going to be absolutely critical is not turning the ball over coming out of the backline. Geelong gave away a lot of goals through no pressure errors coming out of defence, and any half decent side will score on the rebound. Eradicate those and we'd be a good chance to beat them. Their forward line isn't anything special, and whilst they have 2 top line KP defenders, they lack the quality small defenders that could damage us on the rebound.
I'd expect to get smashed in the middle though. Be good to have Sandi back.

I will be surprised if we try & play zone footy in our defensive 50.
