I'd give Jay van Berlo another run in the forward line. Tonight proved he can kick goals and that he is no slouch.

After the bye, we face Richmond next. Perfect team to test shit on.

Don't "test" anything out on anyone... it always bites!

A game on the G - big occasion... gotta do what works.

That said JVB >>> NVB! ;)

Much, much better looking to boot. :D

Get rid of Crowley and maybe Palmer and bring in people who deserve their places.

Johnson did just enough in my opinion to keep his spot. JUST.

Richmond have a great midfield and most of the midfielders have rotation in the forward line and kick a few goals. I'd bring Anthony in, I don't rate Richmond defence at all. Depends how we handle Cotchin and Martin. If Riewoldt can be quite limited (like he was at Subi last time) then we should be fine. I know a lot of it is obvious, but that's because it is.

We kind of struggle against them away though, we started bad at home as well but kicked on. Great work by JvB, Crowley needs to go. 8 possessions in 2 games, and didn't really limit his opponent. Johnson on thin ice as well, don't expect anything though.

Richmond game is always the type we lose.
Expected to win, players take it easier 5-10% an we end up losing.

Its that kind of attitude which is the reason we lose them.
Oh well its only richmond lets try some things etc.

The AFL is an extremely close competition.
If a team isnt switched on mentally they can lose to anyone.

If we let Cotchin or Martin get 30+ disposals unlike Boyd they will hurt us.
The way we let teams midfielders rack up massive numbers is worrying.
Surely we dont need Crowley an VB in the forward line?
One of them can go in midfield an shutdown a midfielder.

Im normally not a fan of night games at subi especially sun or mon but after tonight I might cahnge that opinion.
The crowd was sensational absolutely electric atmosphere.
Havent seen that many freo fans screaming so loudly all game for ages.
Although i think there might of been some dew on the field which kind of made it abit scrappy.

i'll be stoked if we can managed to beat Richmond. Bogie game big time. No testing, lets just stick to our structures, take it one week at a time and focus on planning and preparation.

Yeah pretty important that we use the game to get a decent hit-out on the ground. And after the bye too. Don't try anything fancy, just structure up well, work the gameplan, beat your opponent, improve your skills.

I wouldn't be counting on JVB to kick a couple of goals a game.

His desperation last night was great and if he is going to hold his spot it has to be in that run with role - kicking a goal every now and then is a bonus.

Agree with this. Got to learn to win at the ground with our best possible line up.

Good point IP, it's important to have players who don't scare the children. No, really, the one about not flirting with form.:thumbsu:

have to lock down cotchin and martin also need to much work harder to get our hands on the ball first from sandi's taps.

could use pav down forward more to stretch their back half.
