Aisake at CHF in '08?

Are all football supporters like this?

This thread shows shows that when unintelligent people try to dis others for having fantasies they become just as delusional only in reverse.

It is not like as if the thread starter is going to single-handedly ruin Aisakie or Carlton's season by daring to think big and writing about it.

I hazard a guess that Carlton could do worse than take note even if the details are a bit off.

When you build a box and think everything must conform to the box then you will understand why some people can never break free of it.

baby steps at a time with this boy.

will be a beauty

As for CHF, its probably the most important position on the field, so i probably wouldnt have him playing there next year or in 09. but as he picks up the tempo of the game and starts to undertand it i think it could very well be a position for him to fill post 2010.

good thought

The way this forum overrated the two Irish brothers is bull.

Setanta i can agree, because hes decent, no superstar but a good player

but aisake at CHB, are you joking me, he just came from 3 years off the rookie list yet to play an AFL game and you want him to play CHB at AFL level.

Think about your thread before you create it

We have some good young players floating about the club this year.

Who cares how we go in the NAB cup...

We should be using it purely and simply to get some game time into kids like Aisake.

I still reckon that he will become the ruck-rover for the club, but it doesnt hurt to try him in other positions.

While we are at it, we should draft Willie Mason to be our FB.;)

Willie Mason is looking for an NFL gig as a running back when his current contract expires.

Went to USA for a non-contact trial last summer and looks to be a serious chance to get a trial

I brought this up vaguely in the other thread but thought it deserved its own. I reckon we should start this guy at CHF next year, at least in the NAB cup. He has the height, maybe not so much the body type but he has a great athleticism about him. This way, if we do start him at CHF, we can rotate him in to the ruck position and he may be able to gain some useful experience.

Thoughts?

CHF is the toughest position on the ground, as is evidenced in the past with only a handful of standouts who have played there in the last 20 years. To suggest a player to play CHF who hasn't played an AFL game before let alone one with limited AFL experience is a bold move.

But by all means I would love to see Carlton try it, in fact persist with it for all of next year, and the year after. :D

Marty Clarke came and played well after less than a year of AFL.

Aisake will be trialed by the coaching panel in the positions they feel he is most suited to.

Aisake has all the physical attributes to and may well be able to succeed in any KP on the ground, only time and exposure will tell

While I agree in part with what you are saying, we should all look at the curver Setanta has taken in terms of performance.

He has gone from a bit of a novelty one year to a good player the next.

A good senior AFL player. He has no right to do this.

This year he will become one of our top 10 players IMO, and we can only hope that Aisake is learning the game just as quick.

Forget Judd and Gibbs..........the guys that will have made up for the loss of our picks will be these guys IMO.:thumbsu:

.......but I do understand your point, and no, I don't think we can play him at CHF yet. It s a role for smart footballers who read the play well and can kick from range or hit a target on the run (J Brown).

I think I am alone in saying this, simply because we have no other replacement, but Fev would make a great CHF.
Is smart in terms of field position, underrated as a passer of the ball inside 50, and we all know his range............would just need to work on his motor...........but anyway, he'll stay at FF and that's fine too.......:thumbsu:

actually, this thread is based on the thought of aisake playing at CHF, not CHB... so maybe you should think about your post before u post it!
