Aka A Cat????

Gary Lyon said on the Footy Show last night that Bomber had spoken to Aka about the possibility of becoming a cat. Do we want him? Depends on what we have to give up for mine. Certainly not any early draft picks.

Essendon and the Bulldogs have made the strongest running for Akermanis but Geelong, Richmond, Collingwood and Melbourne are also interested.

Can't see it. He doesn't like Geelong, not a big enough stage for him. Given his agea nd the fact that he's just had shoulder surgery I'm happy for him to go elsewhere

He would be very handy running off out of the middle, a wing or back flank (a. mcleod style) his foot skills would be appreciated by our forwards plus he would be another goal kicking option. he still has another 3 season minimum in him I reckon.

true, if we gave up kelly (unlikely) to get him then we would have to move on that.

i'd be tempted to trade Kelly for him in a straight swap... the thing is though, I'd only want Aka if I thought we were a chance to win a flag in the next two years and all things considered, we probably aren't... Otherwise we'd be better off investing in youth or giving Kelly one more year to redeem himself... Still football fortunes can turn quickly and Aka might be the spark we need..

One club wanted me to front the leadership group to convince them to take me. That's not my go, It is the coach that should make those decisions not the players.

Not necessarily. He has had run ins with the leadership group at Brisbane this year. There would be few clubs that would like to know the players accept him first
