Would love to here your thoughts on what the Dogs did?

personally i think we should mark down this day as the day the bulldogs died..

they are no longer my second team, i loved that aka guy..

i just imagine how i would feel if our club sacked one of our most colourful and best players, even if he was a little selfish... oh wait we sacked robbo..

i for one am still bitter about the sacking of robbo.. add 2 goals to each of of our games and see how many we win then..

Interesting comparison, but Robbo was never in the same league as Aker in terms of his obnoxiousness...
But yeh, this move by the dogs has pissed a lot of people off.
But remember that we sacked Robbo at the start of a rebuilding phase, not at a time when our premiership window was still 'open'. Our move was a bit more justifiable, I think.
I miss Robbo, but I think I am glad we are not still trying to fit a place in the team for him. Means a younger guy who would be a more realistic chance of playing in future finals sucess is getting experience.

What a bizarre thread.

Firstly, Robbo was never in Akas league. Robbo never betrayed the trust of the team and spoke publicly about inner sanctum stuff. We all knew Robbo was sad to go, but he has been very dignified about it and has NEVER criticised the club publicly (Which Aka did at Brisbane and will do now to the Bulldogs).

Secondly, the Bulldogs did the right thing. Akermanis was one of my favourite all-time players but he's an idiot.
 
They couldnt afford any more distractions during finals, was what I read.

Look how many threads articles news reports and paper headlines there have and will continue to be, long after this season is coming to a close.

Bad move. Should've sacked him after the season was out.

going on a like-for-like replacement, take 2 goals off most of the first 6 rounds... Robbo would have been in the team ahead of Ricky P.

I think the Aka and Robbo thing is very different and robbo played out the rest of the year also i think that we made the right decision.

I think the Bulldogs have made a bad decison dont understand why they waited until now to sack him.

worst post i have every seen!!! there is no doubt that both would have been in the team!!

robbo is one of the clubs greatest goal scorers and IMO had another 2-3 years left in him. still had his leap and the ability to draw the best defender..
wouldnt you all love to have seen your beloved 'watts' develop alongside robbo!

who cares if he takes a kids spot! i dont give a **** about some kid getting a game! i wanna beat other teams like the ****ing roos!!

robbo is the greatest, and even if he wasnt pound'n Kate Ceberano, i would still love him.

Disappointing thread.

I for one am proud of the clubs decision although it could have been handled a little better but these situations are difficult. He was a cancer at the club this year just like he was at Brisbane.

I think its the beginning of the dogs
 
Aker was my fav player, Footscray were my 2nd team. No more. The whole dogs team look like ****ing pussies. I'm sick of the PC bullshit in football these days. Everyone has gone soft. Looking forward to Aker and Barry Hall on the TFS tonight!

i'm afraid it is you who is the disappointment. aka was one of the last 'souls' left in football.. whether it was good or bad at least he had one.. next the lions will sack fev and the football world will truly be a robot army..

we need to nurture w***ers like aka, fev and dustin martin they are great for the game..

after watching TFS tonight aka looks like a broken man.. and so he should be, his club (lead by his captain - a smiling assassin indeed) betrayed him, the club that he gave his last remaining football years to.. a sad day indeed..

i would (in seriousness, not in jest, or just for argument) welcome aka to our club next year to play a ben cousins-type role (- the drugs).. but we will never do it seeing as we kicked out 'our aka' last year..

for the record would have robbo on the list over joel macdonnald.. 110%

Agreed, Aker needs to take responsbility for what he has said and done at his time with the dogs. He needs to stop blaming everyone else, how many other footballers make comments like him, none and he wonders why after numerous warnings why he was sacked. Then Aker your as stupid as you look.
