This is definitely the last thing Didak of all people needed. We saw last season what happens when he doesn't have a solid pre-season. Hopefully he retains his fitness for Round 1.

Ed DThe club is saying they're wanting to get him right for round 1 (which is 7 weeks away) and an adductor strain isn't the end of the world, it's just unfortunate to happen to Didak of all players. But again, he's done all of the preseason and well up to this point so hopefully it doesn't put him back too far.

Not sure you'd be my first choice in a crisis MMD. There's just a hint of panic about you.![]()
He might not ever be the same Didak (because 2010 was the peak of his career and he was in the top 5-10 players for the year) but to say it's career over is going a bit too far.Spent force! career over. Some of you don't want to believe it. He will NEVER be the same didak
I guess that's 2012 gone down the gurggler then.
Not great news, but not the end of the world either.
The club now has to be careful with him, and they need to ensure he has more time then usual to recover and build up a good fitness base before he debuts for the season.
Personally, I wouldn't be even considering him for round 1, if he is to be out for a month, I'd give him 5 weeks to fully recover, then place him on another 4-5 week program to give him his own mini pre season before he returns.
We don't need him in April and May, we need him in September.
What has the club had to say about this? If it is diagnosed as a four week injury it makes no sense that it is torn off the bone. A four week torn muscle is pretty standard. It isn't great news for certain but it is hardly dire straights either. If it is a standard tear there is no reason to believe he wont recover and get back to his best for a large portion of the season.
Collingwood director of football Geoff Walsh said the club is hopeful that Didak will be back on the field in time for round one.
“Alan has torn his adductor muscle and will miss the next four weeks,” Walsh said.
“He has had scans to confirm the injury and now will go through a rehab schedule to hopefully get him back and ready for round one of the home and away season.”
