Whilst we generally get excited by the younger players in the pre-season like Daisy and Pendles who just seem to be growing into their bodies (particularly Daisy) and Reid continues to develop, Browny a man mountain etc. there is one player who I must say looks a picture of fitness and he is the best player at our club... Alan Didak.

Looks sensational. Have not seen him look better.

Fully toned and ripped and from the images just seems to be pushing himself to the extreme in all the training drills.

Expect a second coming for the Copeland in 2009.

Dids can look a $Million but all the training in the world will be useless unless he curbs his lifestyle outside football.

were you one of the few that wanted to boot didak???
also, your statement applies to every footballer in the league...
finally, why do you bag didak at every opportunity you get?

Hopefully he has made it a goal of his to prove to the doubtful supporters and outsiders why the club showed faith in him. I hope he knuckles down and focuses on footy, he is a really tallented player and I would hate to see that tallent go to waste.

Hate to burst your perfect little bubble but I've seen the photo's and he is the only player that doesn't actually look ripped. I'm sure he's in for a big year but toned and ripped? I don't think so

Ro I don't know if you have ever sat down and talked with Alan, but I have in a situation where any young man would feel awkward. He was great, didn't blink an eye and didn't seem to let "outside" influences worry him because he was happy to greet me at anytime.

Obviously the last year or so hasn't been great for him but knowing his inner strength and his will to achieve, he will do great things.

He owes the Club big time

Now is the time to repay the life line he was given

And yes, if 2 first round picks were offered I would have traded him in a heart beat

Well Ryan he was a kid when in 2002/03 The Queer Supporters Group the Pink Magpies sponsored him and it made all the papers. Imagine the pressure and on field mocking he would have had to deal with being the AFL Poster boy for the GLBT world.

This guy has more G&D than most give him credit for.

Fair enough, cheers... should have a ripper year in '09.

Dammit Ro you have no idea what you are talking about. Just stop you look like a dead set knob posting this shit

Yes and he was very vocal about it

Didak has to grow up.

He is letting his outside influences (such as not curbing his party lifestyle) & people (you have to question his role models) ruin his onfield activities. He has the potential to be an A Grade player but he needs a more professional approach, get off the booze & cut your nightclubbing days & his talent might be realized.

Generally I don’t subscribe to that sort of view Rohan but in Didak’s case it is a fair point. I don’t want him, or any player, to be perfect or even anyone’s role model but Didak needs to put his head down and give 100% to achieve his potential. If he does that and a few other things go our way we might even win a flag.

No you have to grow up.. you are a disgrace to your family name.. to go from champions to chat room troll in the space of a century should be your lifelong shame

Relax Cuz, with Rohan, his name is nothing more than an accident of birth and I'm guessing no one is really sure about that either.

What Rohan is saying is spot on - if Didak is to achieve his best, he needs to curb his off-field behaviour. In the past it has been a problem. In the future it may not, but only time will tell if he takes this last last chance he has been given. The fact is he will only achieve his best if he avoids the booze.

To get personal about this Rohan bloke is shocking Chase the Ace.

Really almost every player can go harder and dedicate themselves more but its their choice. Some players push themselves incredibly hard because thats their nature, its Didaks nature to be the way he is, you can't miraculously make him like Chris Judd in the way he commits to footy. Every AFL player works unbelieveably hard to get where they are but many players do put in the 10% others don't and are better for it.

Would love to see him have a corker in 2009, he is the classiest bloke on our list, streets ahead of pretty promising kids like Pendles and Thomas. I swear Dids has an extra brain in each of his ankles, the things he can do by foot.
