On the other hand if a player hasn't got the ball, his first priority is to make sure his opponent hasn't got the ball.I keep hearing the statement a lot. Don't get me wrong I'm not at taking a shot at you or your statement.
But I just find it amusing that people keep say X player needs to work his butt off and they'll come good.
Maybe we just aren't playing him to his strengths or our forward line structures don't really allow for any foward be overly productive?
When is the last time our forwards, Carlton game excluded, have had multiple majors between them and dominated a game?
Our forwards all lead to the pockets, end up at half back, on the wing, leading into each others space, spoil each other or just plain simply can't nail goals.
For mine the personnel is not doing the job because I believe they don't look to be be a cohesive unit.
You put any player in the Hawks forward 50 and they all seem to do the same things whereas our forward line seems to be in 2 minds.
I believe as a foward your primary objectives should be see ball, get ball, kick ball through big sticks if opportunity is gettable. All this toward pressure crap is secondary. If you kick goals more often than your opponent that is the ultimate pressure.
I thought he had gotten the message and had been playing well up until 3 weeks ago.
