Coach Brett Ratten kept his players behind closed doors long after the final siren, but Simpson said his post-match address had been more of a lesson than a spray.

“He was pretty positive,” Simpson said.

“He just went through the game and all the areas we need to work on, it was just a normal game review; he didn’t yell or anything like that. He was pretty calm; that’s what the NAB Cup’s for just trying to work out what you need to work on and get ready for round one.

That's for all you panic merchants who feel like you have to post thread bashing all of our players who didn't perform in a practice match. Hang your heads in shame

Exactly......how dare you panic merchants!!!!!!!!

Disgraceful to criticise players after a practice game....shame shame shame!!!!

There's constructive criticism and then there's threads like "Jordan Russell = pee heart!!!" or "We're still crap..." or "Eddie Betts is finished"

What kind of idiot supporters go off on their own team like this over a practice match which means nothing? And if any club is aware of just how meaningless the NAB Cup is surely that's us. We're beginning to sound like Richmond supporters lately and its a disgrace.

Gotta agree with the "pee heart" thread though. Russel shouldnt be getting senior games this year. Many more ahead of him even as depth players.

I didnt come on this site after the game as i knew there would be total chaos and fallout. I think now that everyone is looking back on the loss can take a bit of perspective.

4 premiership points were not on the line, and at the end of the day, no nab cup game will give a genuine reflection of how the H&A season will pan out.
