On a side note, does anyone think the rookies have their best chance ever to knock off the sophomores?

I can't wait to see the Lopez twins work in tandem.

lol...as in, you can't wait to see Brook playing and Robin cheering him on from the stands? Robin won't get anywhere near it.

Why not? Not too many 7 foot rookies presenting. He's ahead of Hibbert.

Brook is the one or NJ yeah? He's good. The other one sucks.

You may just have a chance tomorrow to eat your words.

Great to see everyone could join in some discussion about the rooks taking care of the sophs

my attempt of the All-Star teams:

West
C - Yao Ming
F - Tim Duncan
F - Carmelo Anthony
G - Tracy McGrady
G - Kobe Bryant
reserves:
PG - Chris Paul
PG - Chauncey Billups
PF - Dirk Nowitzki
SG - Brandon Roy
C/PF - Amare Stoudemire
PG - Deron Williams
C/PF - Pau Gasol

notable snubs: Kevin Durant, Al Jefferson, Jason Terry, Marcus Camby

East:
C - Dwight Howard
F - Kevin Garnett
F - Lebron James
G - Dwayne Wade
G - Allen Iverson
reserves:
SG - Joe Johnson
SF - Danny Granger
PG - Devin Harris
SF - Paul Pierce
C/PF - Chris Bosh
SG - Vince Carter
C - Zydrunas Ilgauskas

notable snubs: Ben Gordon, Ray Allen, Caron Butler, Tayshaun Prince, Rodney Stuckey

notes: there are probably more players deserving than Gasol and Igauskas, but the Lakers and Cavs probably deserve more than 1 player in the All-Star team due to their team record.

Eastern Conference:

G: Iverson
G: Wade
F: James
F: Garnett
C: Howard

Iverson doesn't deserve it but the others are fine. Bosh probably should be starting ahead of Garnett but he'll be picked by the coaches anyway.

Bench:

G: Harris
G: Johnson
F: Granger
F: Bosh
C: Okafor
Wildcard: Nelson
Wildcard: Pierce

Harris, Johnson and Bosh are locks. Granger should also get in but his team's poor record may count against him. Centre is close between Okafor and Lee, but Okafor's defense should see him make it. Nelson has stepped up in a big way this season, especially when Howard was injured for a few matches. I don't think he'll be picked but he should. Pierce has had another solid season.

Snubs: Mo Williams, Allen, Rondo, Lewis, Lee

Western Conference:

G: Bryant
G: McGrady
F: Anthony
F: Duncan
C: Yao

Paul should be in instead of McGrady, and Anthony probably shouldn't be named either and might have to pull out because of injury if he is named. The voting is close between Anthony, Stoudemire, Artest and Nowitzki for this forward position, so hopefully Stoudemire will be voted into the starting lineup.

Bench:

G: Paul
G: Roy
F: Nowitzki
F: Stoudemire
C: Jefferson
Wildcard: Billups
Wildcard: Millsap

Paul, Roy, Nowitzki, Stoudemire and Billups should all be locks for the team. The centre is more difficult to choose, as the three best candidates for the spot, Al Jefferson, Biedrins and Camby are all on bad teams. If the coaches go with someone on a better team like they usually seem to, Shaq or Bynum will be the pick. However, I think Jefferson deserves to be in the team, as he has been the better player.

I've put Millsap in the team as one of the wildcards and I really hope he makes it. 19 straight double doubles shows that he is one of the best big men in the league and he has helped keep Utah on track even without Boozer. The coaches will probably choose Gasol because of the Lakers better record, but I think Millsap has been better. Gasol can come into the team as the replacement if Anthony is injured.

Snubs: Gasol, Parker, Durant, Nash, West

You could name a few more to each bench but anyways.
Jameer Nelson should not be in the team ahead of Vince Carter, you haven't even put Carter in the snubs so im hoping you forgot about him.

Other than that they look pretty good :thumbsu:

Nelson deserves a spot. Whether or not he gets one is another story.

I'd have Carter just ahead of Pierce though.

It's absolutely ridiculous how overrated Millsap is becoming. He's a wicked rebounder, but that's about it. Can't create his own shot, either on the block or off the dribble. Can't defend. He's a product of their system.

I bet some dumb team falls for it and offers him 60M this summer, then proceeds to watch him put up 9/11 the rest of his career.

Tony Parker should be an absolute lock for the West, as should Vince for the east.

Carlos Boozer became the most efficient power forward in the game playing in Sloan's system. No surprise to see Millsap doing this well.

He won't make it because of his team's record and that is probably fair enough, but Kevin Durant is having a season equal to just about anyone who makes the West bench.

a) no he's not. Hibbert's actually done something in a couple of games.
b) There's only 9 players on either team. Neither him nor Hibbert are inside the top 15.

Lopez has produced in his time on the court. I'm very happy with his selection.

Lopez has Hibbert covered.

Lopez makes it given the game is in Phoenix and the marketing of having twins playing on the same team is too good to ignore.

I'll lay you 10-to-1 on Robin Lopez making it.

You realise he's been so poor that he's now being replaced in the rotation by Admunson, a 10-day contract specialist?

It's actually Amundson thanks. Amundson has deserved his time, he's played great. Great offensive rebounder. But I suppose you'll tell me he's rubbish, just like how you said Barbosa wouldn't be a rotation player in most either teams

No, you're right. Amundson's a star. He's been cut several times, but that's only because all 30 NBA teams have conspired to keep the white man down.

As for Barbosa, I believe I said he'd barely be a rotation player, not that he wouldn't be a rotation player. There's a difference ;)

Never said he was a star, but has done what has been asked of him. Provide great hustle and offensive rebound. He's doing the crime, thus getting the time. 14 boards against Indiana suggest he's doing something right.

LB lit it up for you yesterday. I've got the game recorded, let me know if you'd like a copy. 29 other GM's would say, I'll have some of that thanks.

You are 100% right.

Players like him just need to find the right team sometimes. He is a very valuable player for you guys.
