Obviously starred during the 2014 finals and kicked three goals to help the Hawks bury the Swans during the 2014 grand final. Loved nothing more than to kick a bouncing goal.

Fascinating career. Played one incredible month of footy in September 2014 at the age of 22. Went on to be a very disappointing player because of the high-profile standard he set himself during that month but really he was just a very limited footballer who ran hot for 4 weeks. And for that he will always have a special place in Hawks fans' hearts.

The decision has also been made to delist Will Langford, who finishes his career with 72 games and a premiership medallion, having played an instrumental role in the Hawks’ 2014 grand final victory.

“At the end of the season we sat down with Will to discuss his future. Will made it clear that he wanted to be a one club player and that if he wasn’t playing for the Hawks then he would prefer to move on to the next chapter in his life,” GM – Football Graham Wright said.

“That being the case we reached a mutual decision to delist Will and we wish him all the best in life outside of football."​

Will seems like a Hawthorn person through and through. Didn't want to test the waters elsewhere - probably knew it was best to depart for the club's sake.

Moves on as a deserving Hawks premiership player. Thanks for 2014, Will!

Will never forget 'that goal' from the pocket in the 2014 GF. Arms raised right in front of the Swans faithful. They were destroyed. I froze frame it to see each and every one of their destroyed and broken expressions. It was a catharsis for me that moment.

Please, that's just drinking the cool aid. The club would have discussed with him that he would not be getting games in 2019 so he's decided to move on with his life 12 months earlier rather than wasting the year. No other club would pick him up, he'd have been delisted 2 years ago if it were not for the long-term contract.

As I said, he will be fondly remembered for his awesome 2014 finals series and managed to get a long-term deal on the back of it but beyond that one month he is a 26 year old who has been very ordinary for a long time.

Hes been on record for quite some time saying if he wasn't playing for Hawthorn he wouldn't be playing AFL, he's an incredible intelligent boy and doesnt need AFL for revenue unlike 99% of the players in the system.


Hawthorn through and through and I'm sadden by he's delisting, would of loved to see him in the Brown and Gold next season.
