We have jetta , cripps , vardy , yeo , redden all value trades apart from redden and all played in a premiership .

None of them were fringe players, that's my point. It wasn't like we were giving Brisbane pick 28 for a player who wasn't best 22 in the case of Yeo, for example. If you meant value trades by parting with lte picks, then sure, but that's not how I interpreted your initial post when you were initially responding to Freo allegedly being interested in a fringe player.

Yep this. I imagine Adelaide have cleared a fair chunk of cap there - hence the low trade.

Yeah fair call, but Betts output in 2019 eclipses what Lecras put up in both 2017 and 2018.

He's definitely on the outer, but for a 4th rounder Adelaide might not even end up using is a bit stiff. I'd have asked for a 3rd if i was the Crows.

12 of Betts' goals came flat tracking against Gold Coast. Lecras also had the support of Cripps, Rioli and Ryan so didn't need to put up huge numbers as our number one small forward.

Apparently Wines camp had asked Carlton to make an offer. The pies are shopping around 3-4 players to fit in their ruckman. Just goes to show how much of a tight ship we run with not shopping players around and going out and getting a gun player in.

I think they should let Grundy go. The issue with he and Gawn, is that they get lots of hot outs but not enough to advantage. Sandilands had the same issue. I don't feel they offer enough more than a competent ruckman, to be able to demand being one of the top 3 players on the list. Pies would be much better off throwing that money at a key forward (if they can find one).

You only need to look at the demo jobs Vardy and Lycett did on Gawn and Grundy in last year's finals to see how readily they can be brought back to the realm of a standard ruckman.

I dont see any difference in eddie to carlton compared to mitchell to wce .

Adelaide want a fresh start and to bring in youth . Eddie wont be part of their next flag tilt and it frees up a massive chuck of salary to chase grundy next year with a godfather offer collingwood cant match .
