Already Thinking About Next Year?

I don't know about everyone else but I'm already thinking about next year.

I've started thinking about some of the players which will be good gets for next year, especially in the subs:

B Reid (Coll), M Brown (WCE), S Gumbleton (Ess), D O'Keefe (Syd), N Naitanui (Melb), B Connelly (Frem), D Rich (?), B Muston (Haw), J Grimes (Melb), L Hansen (NMK), T Collier (Bris) are all players which I have thought would be good pick-ups for the subs.

Are there any other standout young players who have played very few or no games and would be top substitute candidates for next year? Any draft experts want to give some insight into the players who will shine in their first year?

I'm gonna get Rich and Naitanui when they get drafted. I had both B Reid and S Gumbleton this year but got rid of them, i might get them again next year seeing they were very high draft picks and will start performing.

Yea I almost got Reid this year after a pretty awesome pre season, instead opted for L Hansen who has been injured all year. Will have both of them come next year if they stay game-free (Reid is allowed to play and score a 40 after that -4 earlier in the year). Andy Otten is another who I will keep an eye on.

Naitanui and Rich will be no-brainers.

Coughlan from Richmond i reckon will be one worth grabbing. Ottens as well if he is playing injured this year and gets a crap average.

at the end of the season i will write down of must get players for next year so i dont forget, then i dont worry abput SC until it opens again.

gumbleton would be a stupid pick. was priced at 175k this year. would he go up or down without playing a game in 08?

hes played 5 games in total and come 09 having not played footy reguarly for 2 years you couldnt expect him to play well, especially with 3 possible other KPP's in essendons forward line.

I'd start with ablett, kerr, judd, cooney, murphy, palmer, cotchin & muston in my midfield.

keep porps, deledio, rioli, rob murphy, pavlich, motlop in the forward line

but haven't really been following the TAC cup, save that for end of year

Surely a top 2 pick in their third season would be given every opportunity though, and he would only be a substitute. I assume he would go down in price, does anybody know how to work out the prices for players who have played none or few games?

dempsey from essendon will improve definately next year........grima kangaroos,boak is a go as well. I will be looking @ 3rd year players now. gibbs maybe I think age comes into it as bodies seem to get over niggly injuries better than older players now.
22/24 yrs old are the go......

Muston is a fringe player. Why on earth would you pick him up after hes comming off his 3rd knee reco. He will be kept in cotton wool next year and wont be playing with the hawks. 60% game time in box hill ressies at best.

Johnno has been carrying all sorts of injury all year which is the reason why he has been below his usual self, I would not rule him out for next year by any means, will still be only 32! Gilbee has been very good last few weeks and Shaw will learn. Agree with McLeod though.

Liking the Adelaide boys Porps, Vince, VanBerlo, Danger shuld all come good. Porps should be a foward in sc but will come into the midfield where i predict Ablett like performances in a year or two.
