Stevo for club champion in 2002!
Well things are not looking rosey at the mighty Crows this week. With illness and injury clipping a few wings. Injurys/Illness surround a few key players namely
1 Smart (flu)
2 Goodwin (ankle)
3 Johnson (ankle)
4 Biglands (butt)
5 Stevens (calf or thigh, I heard two storys!)
6 Ricciuito (flu)
7 Welsh (Osteitis Pubis)
We know that Smart & Welsh have been ruled out. Goodwin & Johnson are hobbling on crutches, Stevens & Ricciuito didn't train today and Biglands has had treatment on his butt all week.
Should we risk any of them this week? Or should we rest them and have them ready for next week against Collingwood? I would much prefer that we rest Johnson & Goodwin if they are not 100% fit and ready. If there is any doubt, leave them out. Don't risk loosing them in the first quarter and then for 3 weeks after that. Biglands butt will probably be alright. Depends on the type of strain that Stevo has but it might be better for him to completely rest it and be available next week rather than him get injured further and misses a couple. Again if Roo is not 100% then he will end up like Smart last week sitting it out on the bench.
I think that we need to put our best team on the park, but we also need to have a fit and ready team. It will be interesting to see what happens at the selection table tommorrow.
Good Luck Crows!!!!!
