Roast Annoying terms introduced to AFL

I hate when Bruce McAvaney says "clever kick" or even worse "clever mark" as if to say if he wasn't an intellectual with a high IQ he wouldn't have been able to pull it off.

Maybe McAvaney doesn't recognise that it's just good hand eye co-ordination/gross motor skills combined with practice that enabled the player to mark "cleverly".
Unfortunately he thinks it is linked to intelligence which makes me cringe.

Brian Taylor's continual shouts of "WOW WEEE"! I know he is trying to convey his excitement on the particular play but the term loses its meaning when he pulls it out time and time again. Just a personal gripe.
Somebody please shoot that guy before the next round of football starts

AFL when referring to the game. WTF?

Somebody mentioned already "he shorts it".

And a personal non-favourite "soccers it off the ground". Like soccer is the only game where you kick the ball off the ground?

Although not confined just to the AFL, the use of "Plural-isms" when referring to particular players (as examples) really pisses me off.

"Well, they are an honest side but they just don't have any stars like your Abletts or your Judds or your Browns or your Hirds"

Can never figure out why or how this duplication comes about, much less why these multiple copies actually belong to "you":confused:

Blame Gary Ayres...he started it...has always talked like that.....it used to annoy me all those years ago when it was just him, and one of the reasons I can't stand him..

Seems to have caught on slowly but surely unfortunately..

Clearly Matty Leuenberger read your post luthor and wanted to piss you off a little more;):

"Although where we are sitting on the ladder (last), you might say we are in trouble, but for me at the age that I am and with kids coming through like the Reddens, Rich and the Rockliffs, it's pretty exciting times for me.
