My computer has been infected with a rogue anti-spyware and ransomware program called Antivirus Suite! It's an absolute bitch.

The problem started last night, when randomly an antivirus program on my PC displayed a prompt informing me that I have 34 infections.

Throughout out the night, I continually received notices such as fake infections and alerts like bankerfox.a and win32 nuqel.e.

I knew right away that this must be some sort of scam (I didn't have any protection at the time).

I Google searched for instructions to remove this annoyance. Much to my chagrin, it did not work!

What are some suggestion to help me out?

Edit: I'm currently running in Safe Mode with Networking

Well, now I'm suffering from a similar problem as before. This time it's a rogue anti-virus application called Antivirus XP. :(

I've tried the same removal techniques mentioned in the link provided, but to no avail. Likewise, I've tried methods listed on other sites. I've unable to make inroads into solving the problem.

Any suggestions?

It took me about 2 hours, but I've fixed the problem. The combination of Spyware Doctor and Malwarebytes did the trick (+ something to do with notepad). For some unknown reason, it was affecting me in safe mode (with Networking) as well.

I wouldn't have the slightest clue. I'm currently using avast! Internet Security.
Interesting.

Do you have the full program ... ie do you have the spinning orange/blue (depending on version) in your system tray, running?

Are you, or any other user downloading torrents or using Limewire?

Yeah, I have the full program (orange). I think my younger sister uses Limewire.
Probably should keep a check on what she is DLing then.

Or try to find a safer way of getting whatever is being downloaded. Megaupload/Rapidshare is probably a better option ... but speeds and waits can get annoying if you are unwilling to get a paid account.

Indeed. I shall have a few stern words with her.

I use Rapidshare, Mediafire etc... myself, so that shouldn't really be too much of a hassle.

They say that limewire is the absolute worst program to have on your computer  (or any P2P program for that matter - any person who doesn't know how to use it properly can get viruses too easily)

Something like Microsoft Security Essentials or AVG are both free and provide full protection (I think, correct me if I'm wrong)
