He was stunning as a first year player then somewhat lagged in subsequent years. Rightly labelled as a fringe player recently, I have been impressed with his recent form, and would see him as one of the reasons as to why we have been playing well.

I reckon when the team plays well, he does. Went back for some couragous marks tonight and although he still dosen't get a whole heap of the pill he's decision making is much better this year. Very glad too see him finally hit his straps again. :thumbsu:

Played on Banfield for most of the night and kept him to 8 touches and a couple of behinds. Bartram is a seriously quick player, tackles well, marks nicely for his height and really I don't think his decision making has ever been bad, just his skill execution. I'm really happy for him and he's freeing up Grimes to often play on lesser players and therefore use his skill to better advantage.

He's okay. He goes about his business quietly. I don't think that he's in our best 22 though when we get other players back.

The injury he had against Adelaide I think it was in the finals really messed him up I think and it's taken him time to get back on track. I don't shudder when he gets the ball now unlike the last couple of seasons.

Great to see him back in some form.

Have to agree, without setting the world on fire Bartram has been solid. I'll put Lynden Dunn in the same basket considering both have been bandied around as de-listable on the board.

To be honest with Whelan gone there is definitely a role for him in the team as a specialist back pocket player. He has the pace to go with just about any small forward, is courageous and skills although they still aren't great they aren't awful.

I agree, he has improved his skills recently....

Who is going to make way for the guys coming back from injury????

Morton, Wona, Jurrah, Jetta, Rivers & the other new boys that need to get games into them, Watts, Maric, the new boys, Bail, Blease, Cheney,MacNamara, Johnson , Strauss .....

It's all looking good to me...

Agreed with AGE of SMD. Always been a huge Bartram fan, missed him in that 07 season where he didn't really play.

LOL, its insane how much talent we have waiting in the wings.

The guy who really impressed me toward the end of last season was Tom MCNamara.

Also loved Jettas work last season.

Hell even Cheney can play.

Maric also has the capability of exploding at any given minute.

Agreed, we have a tallish backline, with Bruce, Garland, Rivers, Joel Mac all able to play tall or short. However i see Bartram being the bloke who plays on the specialists fwd pocketer, this year he has matched up on Davis, Petrenko, Nason, Banfiled all small fwds Davis and Banfield particularly dangerous this year.

Skills have really improved, and allows Grimey to play more accross half back. He might noe be the 22 most talented players in the club, but for mine in the best 22 to make up the TEAM.

Been very impressed...thought he may have been a list clogger at once stage but in my opinion he has been very reliable and solid down back this year

Delistings at the end of this year will be interesting...

Barts has been excellent so far this year but does kick backwards a little too much sometimes when there is a better option up feild...

I wouldnt say 'REALLY' impressed, but Im happy with his improvement.

Mostly in his kicking penetration and his core strength.

Given we're only likely to take 3 or 4 new players at the most next year, I can see Bartram being around for a while on current form.
