I'll admit the original post was poorly worded. It's not a rumour, it's fact.
Even allowing for those of you who don't believe me (don't care if you don't, I know it's true), does it not concern any of you at all that crucial documents relating to the club's game plan were left in the open at a press conference? Does this not reflect the ineptitude we have? The same ineptitude reflected in the club's performance?
How many times do you "everything is always super positive" people have to be proven wrong before you admit we have serious problems? Every year you say success is around the corner, all bar a couple you've been proven wrong. The club is a rabble and the people within it are letting us down. That trend shows no sign of changing.
I just wish one day we'll have a fan base that demands success. You never know, it might help us at least have a slight hope in hell of getting it.
Just don't say I didn't warn you in a decade's time when we've made no progress. By then I'm guessing at least some of you will have reached my stage of depression ... God knows at what stage I'll be at by then
Don't resort to that garbage. Firstly I've never registered for that website or the MOB, secondly what difference would it make if I had? They have as much right to an opinion as you, despite the fact you MUFC toads seem to think a plane crash and a few cups put your opinions are above the rest of the world.
If we're going to go into irrelevant references to other websites ... I swear there was once a time this place wasn't Dockerland mark two, i.e. choc full of super positive muppets who refuse to admit the obvious and seem oblivious to the heartbreak we cop week after week, year after year.
Good for what he had.
It was said tongue in cheek but the idea has merit.
,
We could trade Pav to Brisbane for Clark , Black and Dazzle

The document was opposition weaknesses as I said. Study of opposition weaknesses goes hand in hand with the game plan to take on an opponent. I agree it's BS the club allowed it to happen. Don't care if you don't believe it.What was the document donkey...`game plan` or `opposition weaknesses`?
They are different things you know....and what would either of them be doing at a press conference? simply b*llshit
I just read through a selection of your posts and you've never had a positive word to say about the club. I smell an eagles supporter taking the piss, run along wally.
We have appointed an entirely new coaching staff, a new CEO and a new chief of recruiting in the last 12 months, what more do you want?

You should look a little deeper. Take a look at the first couple of years I posted here. Most of the time I'd only post regarding my hatred of Eagles fans, or Dockerland, or my desire for people to get off the club's back about re-signing Connolly (which I now admit was silly of me). We all have a point where our patience runs out. It's very childish how people here feel the need to delegate labels like "Eagles fan" or "MOB" just because someone disagrees with them. Nor does it do anything to disprove a point.
I'd like ...
The worst performed club in the nation over the last 14 years to recognise the need to appoint an EXTERNAL CANDIDATE as its new CEO, rather than sticking with the guys who keep failing
A President who hasn't been a constant failure
Willingness to rebuild the list when it's obvious it isn't up to it (not a year or three later when we're already in too deep)
Seasons in which we only go in with the oldest list in the competition if we're a genuine contender (not a bottom four contender)
A coach not dumb enough to encourage Matt Carr (amongst others) to play on when he's obviously not going to make it through a handful of games
A list which won't set a mid-season retirement announcement record
A coach who won't take a finals contending team, waste late draft picks on old Essendon hacks, and take said team to its second-worst ever season (and don't try telling me Harvey didn't have a role in wasting a spot on the list, which obviously would've been better spent on a young propsect, on Johnson)
And probably most importantly ... a recruiting manager who hasn't been a constant failure. How the fudge can the third-biggest club in the league in terms of membership stand by and let its recruiting fail so dismally, while a club which is yet to kick a ball or sign one member goes and signs the man widely considered the best list manager in the league?
(and I don't care if you don't think it's Phil Smart's fault ... the club has had 14 seasons to get its recruiting right so it obviously needs a complete overhaul, not just role changes to internal candidates who've already proven they aren't up to it)
To summarise my answer to "what more do you want?" in one word - competence.
Consider the following names:
Mark Harvey
Rick Hart
Phil Smart
Chris Bond
Robert Shaw
Steve Rosich
Dean Wallis - in fact pretty much all of our assistants, but I just like hiding the Essendon old-boy element
etc. etc.
What have we seen in their time at our club or any other club to suggest they have what it takes to rebuild this sinking ship?
And I don't see how the hell these opinions make me a scum fan. I want this club to have success as much as any of you, and I'm devastated we're so far away from it! Doesn't that concern any of you?!?!
Just don't say I didn't warn you.

MUFC toads
Is that you Robert Walls?
Seriously, if you have that much of a problem stop follwing the AFL.
I'm pretty darn sure that the majority of us have had our fair share of dissapointment when it comes to the Fremantle Football Club.
I for one will stick with them because they're the team I WANT to support and the team that my children will someday support (Barring some nasty gene pool accident).
If you have that much of a problem with how things are run nominate to become a board member and then you will have more of a say.
It's not fair that you come on here having not posted in god knows how long and start slandering OUR football club because you heard a rumour that a slip of paper was left on the desk after Mark Johnsons retirement.
As far as i'm concerned Mark Johnson has added more this year with his experience and tenacity than a late pick in the draft would. Taking kids that late in the draft is a risk at best. It's not everyday you get a James Hird from such a late pick.
Soloman and Ma J. have shown more heart for this football club in one year than some of the older players have for most of their career.
I know we're looking up for the future because the signs are promising. Most of us know not to get too far ahead of ourselves anymore.
Take your slanderous ways and don't let the door hit your arse on the way out.
Thanks.
Pretty sure Smart has been demoted and someone else (Matthew Lloyd's brother?) now heads up our recruiting.
The one thing I agree with in this thread.Go the sky blues.

I won't stop following the club as you request because I love it with all my heart, despite the frustrations. Fremantle is the "team I want to support" too. I just feel paying hundreds of dollars in membership, merchandise, away trips, etc. per season I have a right to demand better than the crap we're continuously served. (and when I say "demand", I'll still be renewing my membership every year, but I have a right to express my displeasure in any way I please).
./QUOTE]
It's always about the money for some people, just because they spend money on Freo they think they own the club or the players.
Your not forced to spend it and it was your choice so don't do it,you will feel better I,m sure.
I have to take serious exception to this post.
Firstly, I don't have the time to pissfart around on the internet all season long. Just because I may not post here as much as you do, doesn't make me less entitled to post my opinion than you. I use this forum only when my frustrations reach boiling point, which is my right in this fantastic free country of ours.

Nor will I nominate for the board because I don't have the time, and wouldn't be accepted anyway. Thanks for your kind offer though.
As for the rest I'll summarise.
Hart has overseen a mediocre period at the club, and as President the buck stops with him. He and Schwab should take the blame for employing, and/or continuing to employ the twats who've made us such a laughing stock over that period.
What would I like a new President do differently? Oversee a successful period in which progress is made, and to have the balls to step aside if that isn't achieved within seven years (preferably less).
(and don't give me this rubbish about off-field success ... success in the AFL is measured on the field, and the President and CEO oversee the appointments, and many of the decisions, which dictate whether or not this success happens)
I haven't called for Harvey's dismissal, just expressed the fact he's the wrong man for the job. Unfortunately there's no way known he can be sacked now, but his list management decisions heading into the season were abysmal, as evident with the five retirements, and the whole second-worst ever season thing. (and don't give me garbage about "competitive", "dangerous" or "close" ... the ladder doesn't lie.)
I'm not bagging the club for the fact these players retired, but for the fact they were allowed to play on, which was an absolute joke when we finished last season with a list that obviously needed to be rebuilt (when you have the oldest list in the competition and have missed the finals three of the previous four seasons it's pretty freaking obvious).
Mark Johnson wasn't "good" and he contributed absolutely zero towards the most important thing - working towards our next premiership. All he did was waste a spot in the team which could've been used to advance the development of a younger player who could be around to contribute when (if) we can contend.
Don't give a crap if he was hard at the ball. All I care about is working towards the next flag tilt and all he did was restrict that. He also severely lacked talent at this stage of his career.
I'll admit Harvey seemed a reasonable appointment at the time, but it's now clear he's out of his depth. As for the rest of your "who would you appoint" ... it's too hard to narrow down to one person, but I'd have at least made an effort to go after some people who have had previous success in those respective roles. If you need names I can think of some appointments that have been made across the scummy end of town, and on the Gold Coast, which are far more impressive than anyone at our club.
As for how many players should we have turned over heading into this season? To put a number on it would be unfair because that obviously depends on who is brought in, but what is obvious are the abysmal mistakes that were made ...
Signing Mark Johnson
Allowing Bell to continue playing from Geraldton
Allowing Heath Black anywhere near the club
Talking Matt Carr out of retirement
Continuing to play McManus, at the expense of a younger player
That for me is enough to see the assclowns at the club have no idea.
