PRELIMINARY RULES


1. This is a live draft game, where an individual player can be owned by one and only one coached team. There are 16 coached teams in total.
2. The draft order is as specified within this thread.
3. Draft day is Sunday 31st May at 7:00 SA time and to be undertaken on msn messenger. This time (but not date) is subject to change within the next 2 days so please stay tuned. Please ensure you have the right time according to your home state, this is your responsibility, a time converter can be found easily on the internet if necessary.
4. Each coach will have 2 minutes to select their chosen player, after which their selection will be forfeited barring any out of the ordinary circumstances such as internet disconnection or the like.
5. It is your responsibility to ensure you do not select an already selected player. If you do and I don't notice then sorry but you've just forfeited your selection. The player will not be on your list and you'll have to fill any remaining spots post draft.
6. When drafting, please write the players name, followed by their team and position/s. For example: COX, Dean-RUCK.

GAME RULES


7. The league will consist of two warm-up rounds to establish a ladder (rounds 11 and 12) followed by a round-robin finals series in elimination style. 1 vs 16, 2 vs 15, 3 vs 14 and so on, continuing until we have a remaining, winning team. If you lose in the finals then you’re out and in the event of a draw the team with the highest total points scored to date will be declared the winner.
8. You can play a maximum of 5 defenders, 4 midfielders, 2 ruckmen, 5 forwards on the field. Each team will also have two emergency players, in any position, who may fill in for a zero in any position- i.e. a mid/fwd may fill in for a defender or similar. Regardless your team must contain the above numbers in each position, plus two. At the conclusion of the draft if your player numbers do not add up you must de-list appropriately and re-draft using unsigned players or by trading with another team.
9. You may modify your list 2 times per round, with no overall limit, either by delisting a player and selecting an existing player or trading with another coach’s team. This may be done by both players PMing me, which is necessary to confirm. Once a trade is confirmed it is final.
10. Player positions are as specified by AFL dream team. A player listed in multiple positions may be played in either, even after drafting. For example you could play Chad Cornes as a defender one week, and then a midfielder the next.
11. There is no salary cap.
12. A captain, but no vice, can be selected each week for double points.
13. Scoring is as for AFL Dream Team.
14. Anything not mentioned in these rules will be judged on by myself, I will use my own discretion and attempt to be as fair as possible.

Love the optimism Sibbo! Well, we'll cross that bridge when we get to it. I have a few ideas if number get over 16, if numbers do blow out then we'll see what people prefer to do about it, hopefully no-one who wants to play misses out.

Okay guys, to address a few points in question:
1. There is no separate website, the league will be run off either this thread or a new thread on Bigfooty with the databases for the teams and scoring run off my computer at home (most probably using Excel). If anyone wants to see these at any time this is fine and can be arranged, probably through email or something.

2. The draft order will be determined by random number generator (i.e. I wont just give the number one pick to myself ). Then once a round of picks is complete, the order is reversed for the next round, and so on. The number in the opening post given to your team is irrelevant for draft order, its just the order you entered in-which makes no difference as long as you're in.

3. If I have missed anyone by mistake please let me know.
