I think the AFL has more than enough on its plate than worrying about expanding into Tasmania. The next few years should be about survival and damage minimisation for existing clubs rather than risky expansion. Several clubs including mine will potentially be on a cliffs edge if there are no/limited crowds and if members and sponsors start walking away.
Gold Coast average at marvel 23k mcg 27k. GWS is 19k at marvel and 27k at mcg.Interesting what the median crowds were?If we theres any Melbourne based team in the gun based on 2019 low crowds, its North then Stk.

I think I would cross that bridge when I come to it, I just want to see the Tassie side happen first. If a TAS club was created Sherb who would you support when they played Carlton?
Hypothetical - If Tasmania had exclusive rights to Tasmanian players and had a team (positions as examples only) in 2020:-
B:- J Howe, J Kolodjasnij, J Webster
HB:- G Birchall, L Jones, A Pierce
C:- M Robinson, H Greenwood, A Hall
HF:- L Weller J Riewoldt, R Fox
F:- B Mihocek, B Brown, H Dixon
R:- Nankervis, L Weller T, T Thomas
I:- A Phillips, C Jones, T Bellchambers
I think you're going to have to live with that. The 'solution' is to have more clubs. Mergers and relocations of Melbourne clubs are most unlikely.
Yes, a huge surprise.Good old Telsor coming on a thread bagging out Tasmania what a surprise
Indeed, the AFL under Goyder & McLachlan.....appear likely to take the extra team approach every time, right up to 22 teams.
Yes, a huge surprise.
Every state has had significant public money put into new stadiums. The last one built in Melbourne was for soccer
......which means we don’t need tassie. Full circleSee the GF deal. Convened by the State Govt offering bags of gold for an even bigger payday on the back of a national competition.
Tasmania CatsNo vic side will fold.
And quite rightly.
......which means we don’t need tassie. Full circle
You complete idiot.Tasmania Cats
We disagree over what should constitute footy at the highest level, reflecting your VFL history.
Relcoations and mergers just won't be happening. The pragmatic view is to add more non-Victorian teams over time.
Surely a hipster Semi pro league consisting of Fitzroy , Melbourne, North and the old VFA teams would be awesome?
How's that going to happen? Realistically.
Should happen. Bottom end VFL legacy teams in a league more appropriate. Cans and darts on the terrace. Fitzroy back in the fold....Fantastic.
You've said this a few times. But you're yet to provide a source.Yeah and we still have more paid up AFL club members then both Queensland clubs and Sydney clubs combined yet they have populations 4-5 times more then Tasmania population numbers can be misleading
