salient point -

'Advancement' per se, is not the problem, although an economy based on perpetual growth and consumption, instead of equity, certainly poses many problems in the future -

Consumerism is the most dangerous phenomenen of our times

My thoughts exactly

Technology is advancing, human's are regressing in many ways

Sounds like a religious fanatic talking ...

The farther & faster we go the better.

This will happen one day

Nearly every futuristic movie I've seen is way off the mark. Perhaps Total recall (2084) might be realistic.

But I don't think there is a definition for 'too quickly' how can you advance too quickly? If we cured all diseases, would we be advancing too quickly. If we located and colonized another planet, would we be advancing too quickly?

Also earlier the comment about flying cars, I think the question is: Will we be living in mega cities? Could we have 5 Mega cities in say Sydney. All cities would be interconnected. Sydney has a population of 4.58M(Abs.gov.au 2010) Basically each city would be completely self sufficient, travelling between cities would be done via personal carrages on a fixed transportation system. It amazes me that today we still drive our cars into the largest cities in the world. The average commute time in Sydney per week is 4Hours 48 Minutes (https://www.tai.org.au/file.php?file=DP78.pdf) Basically you could travel from one city to another in a personal carrage, all cities accross a country could then be connected. Understandbly not everyone would want to live in these cities, but many would. This is where I think the future could be headed, rather than the concept of flying cars. But that idea is over 100 years away. Unless technology can improve the rate of construction.
