Anyone know if Murphy is going to stay another year? I know he's got 1 year to go on his contract, but unless we're under salary cap pressure (and someone give me a bullet if we are) what is the point of keeping him? He's a proven crab with no heart whose place would be much better used on a kid. Which is a shame, because he's a bloody great set shot.

Will/Should be kept on the list for the remainder of his contract...will play majority of the year in WAFL regardless..unless he pulls that finger out of his ass and starts acting like a 1st round pick.

I hope he comes back firing for pre-season and does well in 2010!

Chris Scott needs to get his hands on him, otherwise he might as well not even go through a pre-season.

Most likely I think he will be serving out his contract.

Who knows - throw him at CHB and see what happens.

Been tried, didn't work.

Please explain?

A kid from Pick 600? Sure why not.... He's got a year to go, theres no point paying 40k to a kid from the draft who is more than likely not going to make it. Stick with him till next season is over.

There is a small chance that mr pick 600 might be an ok player and possibly even have a heart. We've had a good look at Spud's 'efforts' for a good 6 years now.

He worked wonders with Tarrant. Some reinventing is needed. Murphy is a piss poor forward, he has had limited time back. I know a lot of people had Tarrant written off this time last year.

Failed in the backline...Failed when thrown onto the ball..Failed as a forward...Not sure what else is left for him...I'm leaning towwards delist and give another kid a chance...But not likely to happen.

As it stands he is still there, so as a fan I still hold hope for him. My attitude is the same as everyone elses, but I just want to be proven wrong.

I just wonder if he was given a full pre-season training in defence if he might come good. The same pre-season as every other year isn't going to do any good with this bloke.

I keep wishing we had traded him to the bombers when Sheedy wanted him a few years back.

List the number of KPP players we have, Murphy is being kept for depth only. I would dare say if later on in the year a few of the bigger guys go down I would much rather throw Murphy to the wolves than Sheppard and hinder his development. Murphy is an insurance for 2010 and unless something special happens it will be his final year on an AFL list

I was under the impression we needed the space on our list. Does anyone have a link to the team list that was put up a little while ago?

We've got 40 or so blokes on our list who deserve to be there. Murphy is one of those.

Unless of course we're the only club in the competition that doesn't need depth

Speaking of which, all the best to Peake and Drum.

Should have traded him at the end of the 2006 season. Would have received a high second rounder for him. I think Port wanted him and Ryley Dunn?

Mind you, everyone thought he was the next Matthew Lloyd at the end of 06 and trading him would have been like skinning Jesus.

In hindsight, we should have traded a lot of players at the end of 06. We probably could have got 10 picks in the top 20 in the draft that year.

A lesson to us all that hacks can look good in a good side.
