This current West Coast side is worse than their 2022-2024 sides which were compared to Fitzroy 1996.
I know North have been bad in recent years but not even they have been as bad as the current West Coast side.
Port weren't even this bad in 2011 despite having tarps and no money.

Do you think the current West Coast side is the worst since Fitzroy 1996?

There are a few candidates.

Melbourne during their tanking period were rubbish.

Essendon when they basically were forced to field a VFL team weren’t flash.

Carlton in the mid 2000’s when they won a bunch of wooden spoons.

West Coast—Total: 107 games, 32 wins, 75 losses, 0 draws. Equating to a win percentage of approximately 29.9% over the five-year period.

In comparison, North Melbourne recorded 15 wins, 91 losses, and 1 draw over the same period, resulting in a win percentage of approximately 14% over the same 5-year period.

Roos Average Losing Margin: Approximately 36 points over the five-year period

Eagles Average Losing Margin: Average losing margin was approximately 42 points. (Incredibly considering it feels it should be much higher)

Although this current season, the Eagles remain winless with an average losing margin of 56 points.

Apart from those statistics, I would say the current Eagles team is the worst team since Fitzroy, as a fairly obvious observation.

No I don't, I remain convinced the Demons side coached by Mark Neeld was the worst side I have ever seen.

Not the worst but they'd be in the top 5.

2013 Dees on top, then raffle current WC/2021 North/2016 Brisbane and 2011 Port.

We've won half as many games as West Coast since 2020. 16 wins in 6 seasons. Nobody has a record that bad in AFL history, perhaps even in VFL history. We make Fitzroy of the 90's, West Coast of the 2020's, plus Carton and Melbourne from the 2000's/2010's look good.
St kilda 1897-1902 won 2 games in 6 seasons

Melbourne in the early 2010’s were horrific. I watched their games because I’d never seen anything like it. West Coast can actually challenge for at least a quarter without playing dead

It's North Melbourne and it isn't even close. The W/L ratio doesn't lie. Everyone's just numb to how bad we've been.

Fitzroy's last 5 years in the AFL. Total: 109 games, 27 wins, 82 losses, 0 draws. Equating to a win percentage of approximately 24.7% over that five-year period.

Fitzroy's Average Losing Margin: Approximately 53 points over that five-year period.

Gold Coast won 28 matches in their first five seasons.
Melbourne won 27 matches in five seasons between 2012 and 2016

The starting midfield on the weekend was Williams, Baker, Graham, Clay Hall, and Hutchinson. I know they've got a few injuries but there are some VFL and WAFL sides that would beat that midfield.

Some serious questions need to be asked about what the hell has gone on with this rebuild.

I'm a Dockers fan but the Eagles are my second team and I'm as perplexed as everyone else.

On Adrian Barich's radio programme this morning, he was chatting to Brad Hardie and the discussion was that West Coast hasn't even bottomed out yet.
It's actually impossible for us to bottom out any more as our seniors are putrid and there's now kids in nearly all the main roles.

Despite all that, we're still not as bad as 2023.

Although in 2021 the Eagles still had premiership stars on their list.

Eagles rebuild only started properly maybe last year, compare them to Norths rebuild in a few more years.

Carlton in 2002-3 was terrible. But that was not doing what all 15 other clubs did in the 1990s which was get quality scouts to draft decent teenage kids.

Had they drafted lots of decent kids from 1997-2000, their 2002 drop wasn't bad.

They decided to tank In 2005-7. But trading a fair bit to get Chris Judd had to be done. Chris Judd helped that Carlton playing list.

Not only did they get a Premiership player, Judd was a hard trainer and leadership/ captain material.
