we won today.

The jubilation and feeling of team spirit far outweighs delibretly tanking to get 'priority' picks

I'd rather try and win 6 or 7 then lose a few just to get a pick

And if you don't agree, I hope you didn't enjoy the win today

The thing is, we're playing good footy now. If we're playing good footy, there's no reason to want to tank. However, when we were playing as badly as we did early in the year, barring the second half of the Carlton game, we looked like a team that dearly needed an injection of priority talent. However, the way we look now, I'd rather try and win some games, keep a winning culture, and just look to add some more solid kids like last year.

Even though we'll probably finish on more than 5 wins, and not on the bottom of the ladder, our pick might still be quite good this year anyway. It doesn't look like anyone will get priority picks this year, in actuality. Carlton may be the most likely, but if they win 3 more for the year, they'll miss out, because of the draw.

Even if we finish 11th-12th, we could be looking at the 5th-6th pick without priority picks to anyone.

I don't have a problem with winning if we're good enough to do so, I just didn't know if we would be. However, if Didak wants to keep playing like he did today, he could actually make St Kilda look bad for not taking him at #2.

Swan is also standing up in a big way. Maybe the talk about him being de-listed after the security guard shenanigans has fired him up. Good ball getter, and unusually good disposal for his type of player at Collingwood.

Obviously, guys like Travis Cloke and Chris Egan are going to be something special as well, and Frase is still well on his way to captaining this side.

I agree, even though i was pro the tank, it does feel good to start winning and playing some decent attacking football to boot.

I dont think well get a priority now.

What are our chances of playing finals footy this year?

I don't think we can, but we must have a chance.

hehehe dont' get too far ahead of yourself :)

finals? no way

geelong will come out breathing fire this week, and it will be a great test for our players to see how they handel a likely top 4 team with some incentive

the Eagles were complacent, and the Hawks are stragglers like us....im looking forward to friday night to see how Egan, Trav, Rusling, Swan, Fanno etc handle themselves

great win yesterday though :)
