Do you pee around the edge of the the toilet bowl or in the water?

This came up in conversation with mates (we were inebriated clearly) and the vote was split. Personally i'm an around the edges man - it just seems right.

If there is no one within earshot then I just shoot straight down the middle. If someone is close then I find the quiet spot.

Chucking in piece of toilet paper works wonders. No noise AND stops the splash back.

Was about to say this. Also, if you are in an unfamiliar/shared toilet that may potentially have "residue" left (or even just some splash-back of toilet water), the toilet paper serves another purpose. Take the toilet paper, wipe it around the seat to remove any hard to see droplets, then chuck it in for a sound and splash barrier. This has become such a habit after living in college for 2 years that I now do it everywhere.

As for peeing, if nobody is in earshot, then I tend to mix it up, going from water to bowl to water to bowl, etc. If others are around, I aim for the bowl exclusively.

Around the sides to reduce noise, unless i'm drinking and need to 'break the seal' . Break the seal pisses are always straight in the water.

im either way. will give some thought to who is around. if a good mate brings his mrs around, definately in the water. if a normal mate brings his mrs around, on the side... there's a lot of factors into play. i definately cant give a definitive answer.

in the morning if i've had a big night and know i'm gonna piss for about 30 seconds straight then i like to go straight into the water and get the full effect.
