This thread is for discussion of the games we aren't playing in. It is not a thread to constantly refer to how well/badly we are going in our own games, nor is it a place to ruin the enjoyment of others with constant jabs or referrals to Carlton's woes.

Any posts that do so continuously will get deleted, and anyone who continues to push the envelope afterwards will find themselves threadbanned.

Thanks all!

Can’t gauge Adelaide at the moment. Started strong. Should have beaten the Cats and Gold Coast (were robbed in the latter). Beat GWS in one of the worst games played this year. Right now look like flat track bullies with a dysfunctional midfield. (I don’t get why Rankine isn’t there permanently).

Freo have been a bit of a bogey side for them though...

Aints at home: big win.
Essendon away: 10 goal win, but only because they kicked 160 points. Allowing Essendon to kick 100 points in a game you've dominated is not a sign of a finals ready defense.
Roos at home: between 5 and 6 goals. You'd have thought it'd be a few more, might have been a reaction from an unhappy coach at his side's defensive inadequacies the week before.
Suns away: plenty written about it, but there's also not been nearly enough analysis on the Suns' season to date. This is their only win of note; everything else has been bottom 4.
Cats at home: lost to a better side after threatening but unable to kick away in the first half. Again, defense looked very, very leaky. Good game to watch, though.
GWS at home: this was just awful. Awful game, awful weather, but not the sort of awful you can't stop watching.
Dockers away: no rhythm, Freo controlled the flow of the game from the get go. Midfield embarrassed. Lots of missed shots when the game was on the line.

Adelaide are who they've always been, both under Nicks and previous coaches. In Adelaide, they will kick between 3-8 goals from situations they'll miss at any other ground, and this boosts their percentage. They're a team that benefits extremely from home ground advantage. They can look brilliant, but they can also go missing.

12-5th, depending on where they get specific opposition and if they get lucky with their opponent injuries.

Copy and paste with Freo. Can’t perform consistently away from home, and struggle against teams that are tough and can batter them in the contest. Perpetual 7th-12th teams that will struggle when finals footy comes around
