I can remember pretty clearly a Nathan Buckley goal on the run, from around 48m out hard up against the boundary on his right with his right. It's arguably the most difficulty shot in footy, yet he didn't just nail it he made it look easy.
He used to do that shit week in, week out.
I don't like the bloke. I think the acronym made for him - FIGJAM - absolutely fits. But the bloke was the best footballer for three years in which footy allowed for the most body types and had the most freedom to rest players; IMO, when the sport was at its freest to allow for individual brilliance.
Lewis was a brilliant footballer, but at no point was he the best in it. A premiership medal counts for a lot, but it cannot reduce the distance between the very good and the great.
