"Thereafter, Mr. Keswick was addressed by a long term shareholder whose 4 shares have been in her family for over 60 years.

She asked a perfectly reasonable question about the diversity of the board of directors. She pointed out that she has been asking this question for many years (she has) and she has always been furnished with the same answer. “We’ll look into it.” Her tone remained entirely measured when she asked if it has indeed been looked into and Sir Chips refused to provide even a mealy mouthed reply. “Next question,” he demanded on two occasions.

This caused quite a bit of commotion from the floor, including shouts of “resign!” Ivan tried to bring proceedings under control by pleading with the audience to “stop shouting.” Many returned with an obvious riposte, “answer the question then!” Sir Chips again refused. A gentleman politely asked whether Stan Kroenke would address his fellow shareholders and share his vision with them.

“That is not on the agenda, sorry. You can read today’s Daily Telegraph if you want to know,” was Keswick’s terse reply. Obviously this did little to quell the disquiet and the chairman abruptly declared the meeting closed. Sir Chips greeted the sound of the consequent booing by inviting people to “write in if you have a problem.”"

Sir Chips, Eton educated from a millionaire British dynasty family and married to an Earl's daughter, isn't used to being accosted by the common folk. She's just lucky he didn't slap her for being a hysterical woman and demand her husband take her away.

Seriously though, Arsenal have always been a conservative club in the board room; add to that an American owner that doesn't care about winning but making a profit and you can see where the problem lays.

He has said he can guide them out of this mess too. Tbh it's not his fault, it's up to the clubs management to sack him
It's both the owners and Wengers fault. He can opt to resign.

Why should he resign if he doesn't want to though? Like anyone in any job, if they want to stay you have to take it out of their hands.
It's selfish to want to stay when the whole place is burning down because of him.

If he gave a s**t about the club he's put 22 years of service in he'd put the club first and quit. He can still negotiate a nice payout.

Maybe all he cares about is Arsene? Take it out of his hands. It's terrible management

I just think he is a tad deluded, not being selfish, he genuinely thinks he can guide Arsenal out of this current predicament. At the end of the day it's up to the owners to come to the conclusion that he can't. Owners are in a alright position as well, they could sack him and they wouldn't get any extra abuse from the fans for sacking a club legend, most fans know they need a change of direction.

On the flip side the owners seem to agree with Wenger. Might take another season like this one before they bite the bullet.
Also if they genuine believe they are a shot at the Europa to get into CL then they'll not likely change anything until that is decided.

The best thing Wenger could do for the club was to announce he is stepping down at the end of the season and focus on winning the EL. League doesn't matter, play some kids, should be pretty easy to finish 6th.
Arsenal are more likely to win the EL with a caretaker manager than Wenger.

We'd be stupid to put henry in, holding out for simeone at the end of the season though pretty unlikely that will happen.

This is worst i can remember them ever being, the team isn't as poor as what there playing they have enough fire power to win any game, defence and midfield are a shambles, the mustafi/xhaka purchases have come back to bite us on the ass, instead of doing a city and just buy new players eg mangala we've persisted with them when there not good enough

Wenger has been finished for a few years now, he's just gotta do the right thing by the club and go, so do the board

Henry would be a wonderful choice for an interim, long term maybe not so, but at least he'll bring back some of the passion that has been missing in that Arsenal side.
