Thanks for sending me down this completely necessary rabbit hole.

That is Bloers analysis of England being "over prepared". Also, he seems to be using this direct-to-camera pieces to also plug some fine gentlemen's attire. Now I think about it, a smokers cap might suit.

Yep. Averaging 34 with bat and 35 with the ball.
You guys are funny regarding all rounders. It's much harder to bat and bowl than it is to just do 1 thing as you need to work on both of your crafts. Steve Smith was picked as a bowler to start and soon got rid of that once he started making runs.

Green's average is very respectable for a 26 year old that hasn't had his prime years yet to get the batting average up and bowling average down.

In comparison, Stokes has a batting average of 35 and bowling average of 31 and he's probably in England's top 3 all rounders of all time.

Yep,
But his technique was so unconventional I don't think anybody thought he could get away with it at Test level. I recon they were hoping that he's become Warnie lite who could bat maybe a bit better but obviously not bowl as well.

I wonder how much Starc not playing IPL for ten years until the last couple of seasons has helped with his longevity and durability.
It’s a good question G money, but one we’ll never truly know the answer to. One thing we can say is that Starc prioritised test cricket, and that decision has repaid him in spades.

Adelaide test starting on a Wednesday is a bit weird, will be all but over by the weekend. Should’ve been a back to back test starting this Friday and a longer break heading into Boxing Day.
Mid week morning drinking is a bit of treat these days.

5am will do sometimes
In Russia/Alaska/Sweden etc.. workers have their morning spirit shots in the winter before the start of the day at 5am.

Inglis should be the only one in any danger from the top 7. Largely because he batted at 7 instead of 6. That tells us a lot what the leadership thinks of his batting.
I'd love to see a long term middle order bat eg. McSweeney get eased into the side via number 6. Similar how they used to back in the day with Punter/Clarke/Katich.

If England happened to lose the series. Yes ok the coach may be sacked, but there's no way Stokes is being removed as captain because who else would do it? Root doesn't want it anymore and already failed as captain and there's not single other player deserving of being captain left.
