That's what i was thinking, there has been such a spurt of post ashes media publications out of England.

DVD's, Books, Prints or celebrating the fact England won back the Ashes.

Wouldn't it be ironic if England lost the Ashes this year in Australia after all these post-Ashes publications.

And most of it's rubbish  :thumbsd:

I wasted good money on Flintoff's rushed out crappy autobiography which is the worst piece of opportunistic rush released rubbish I have ever read. Absolutely nothing is revealed in that book that we all didn't know all ready, "we were all behind Gilo" "winning the Ashes felt great", etc etc... no ******** sherlock, heard it all before.

I have sat in the library in town a few times and read the Ashes books, and they are all as bad as each other. Vaughan's autobiography isn't much better either, in fact much worse.

The Ashes DVD, however, is awesome.

Good pointon the books, Rob- most of the ones the players do (all countries) are pretty much rubbish- though Steve Waugh's diaries were quite good. On books, I think the two to get- and eddie has noted this elsewhere- are the ones by Gideon Haigh and David Frith. Also- the relevant Wisdens, of course!

Would love to get the DVD on a North American version, but that is probably a forlorn hope...may have to get a universal DVD player...

As for guys looking for previous Ashes series on DVD- they must be out there- a NET search for used sport DVDs will surely turn something up

There are two things which would potentially stop you from playing a UK DVD on your US DVD player usalion.

One is that UK DVDs are PAL format. I am only guessing, but it would have to be a chance that your player plays NTSC and PAL, certainly the players here do and have done for quite a while.

If it will play PAL format, the region of the DVD is the other problem. If you want to PM me your DVD player details (make and model), I can look into that for you.

Cheers.

Oh, that makes it difficult...:D

Play it on your computer (if you have a DVD drive of course) is my next suggestion then. ;) I assume there would be software available to allow you to view PAL/Region 2 DVDs.
