i think people are marking Anderson pretty harshly. Considering we basically spent most of the series not trying to score off him + he had zero support i thought he was outstanding.
Pick of the English bowlers sure. But some of the field placements he set were odd. However was it roots call? And agree when your best partner bowling with you is a dude with broken ribs bowling with you are not going to have a great series

Moeen has been a good contributor for the English for a few years, but in this series looked absolutely light years from the sort of mentality you should be in when playing professional sport. He's got plenty of talent in him with both bat and ball so it certainly won't be the last we see of him, but turning up for a series in such an uncompetitive frame of mind either raises questions of the England management (continuing to play him if aware of something going on behind the scenes) or his own application. By the sound of what Graeme Swann was saying, he has exceptionally low confidence in himself and can be destructively self-depreciating about his own abilities.

Glad to see he played well yesterday in the warm up game in Sydney, but has a few credits which he needs to make up. Often we see the ODI & T20 component of tours bring about a renewed mindset to a struggling player so hopefully that is the case here.

Anderson had a pretty decent series in my opinion. 6.5 pushing 7 would be my rating. Much better than a 5. I though he, rather than Broad would be the struggler.

I actually gave him a 7?
