Yes because he got an opportunity when griffin has been either in AFL of late or injured. Won't develop his craft playing Peel reserves.

That doesn't mean he isn't receiving ruck coaching.

Left field, but I often wondered if Crowley may coach. Showed super dedication on field and seemed quite smart.

Big fan of the Fist coaching. An absolute General on the field when he arrived.

I rather go for kepler at least he done some WAFL club coaching for two year than Crowley .

Yeah i'm a big fan of not necessarily going for 'star coaches' ala the Wayne Gretzky effect (so good at hockey that he was a useless coach, how do you teach pure talent?), but guys like Hodge, Mitchell and Harvey who were smart footballers as well seem like a decent idea. Ditto those who have no talent and had to rely on systems and out-thinking more talented opponents.

That said, I absolutely do not want players who have had the majority of their AFL experience with Ross and Freo. Developing an echo chamber is the worst thing we could do from here.

I'm personally not sold on Hale as our forwards coach. We should be looking to bring the most qualified forwards coach available over (JLo) and moving Hale to another area

Other than the training sessions I've attended and got an impression of our coaching staff and had a bit of an eavesdrop on how they interact with players and listening to the development coaches at the odd Peel game, I have got so little to base any judgement on that I will simply leave it to the powers that be.
I'm pretty confident that the club has got the mechanisms in place to review performance fairly objectively so the accountability and responsibility is real,but they also want to develop and grow their own coaching expertise so it'll be interesting.
Very interested to hear what the big rower has been up to as well.To my knowledge he has not made an official noise since his appointment but he's been shadowing everyone for just short of a year.

Hear Hear and along with Guerra & Hale. The Hawthorne experiment hasn't worked out.

He only started as reserve league senior coach in 2016 .I prefer him to learn more before going for upgrade .

Roger Hayden has been biding his time at Peel working beautifully with our youngsters for about 4 yrs. Eastaugh, Webb(back as Head of development), Prior, Hale, Rock have all gone thru working at Peel and have been promoted to Dockers main side. Its Roger's time to move to be our Backline coac. its time Prior either goes back to Peel or leaves the building.

I really want 2 or 3 new assistant coaches with a fresh set of eyes. Coaches from Peel don't count.

I believe our game plan needs big changes (at least some serious tweaking), and the easiest way for us to do this is by changing the assistant coaches

It's hard to believe that the average punter watching from the stands or their lounge room would have much of an idea about the ability of assistant coaches.

I hope that means the all inside and leaving opposition players free in dangerous positions on the outside of stoppages, is now a thing of the past.

Nobody know , Glass must be impressive enough to convince he is good as assistant coach or he think hawthorn is the right place to improve himself as assistant coach .

Hopefully our new assistant/s will be eager, ambitious and driven to be our next senior coach - in case Ross leaves in a few years. Think we need to work on a backup plan.
