The Test XI seems pretty settled at the moment, as follows :
Hayden
Langer
Ponting
M.Waugh
S.Waugh
Martyn
Gilchrist
Warne
B.Lee
Gillespie
McGrath
Rarely has it been this settled, apart from perhaps after the 1989 Ahses tour when the top 6 batsmen were very set, and the bowling attack fairly settled too.
So what would the second XI be?
Would recent Test player Slater be in it, or would he be left out on the basis of being dropped from the NSW team?
What about Stuart Law who would have been in any second XI over the last 10-12 years?
Which bowlers would be picked, given that Australia's selectors seem to have decided on a best 4 who are way ahead of the others?
How does this sound? :
Hussey
Love
Lehmann
Katich
Bevan
Watson
Haddin/Seccombe/Clingeleffer
Bichel
Noffke
MacGill
Rofe
Hayden
Langer
Ponting
M.Waugh
S.Waugh
Martyn
Gilchrist
Warne
B.Lee
Gillespie
