[Brock 'n' Roll]

Thought I would take an idea from the Richmond Board and give out some awards now that the season is pretty much over for us.


Best Player 2008 = Brad Green /Cam Bruce in front of Paul Wheatly & Junior
Most Improved 08 = Paul Johnson in front of Buckley, C.Johnson and Lynden Dunn
Best First Year Player = Cale Morton in front of Garland and Austin (although massive wraps for Stefan Martin think he will be a star)
Most Disappointing = Nathan Carol was almost AA in 2006, what a fall from grace Benny Hollard.
Best Win = v Fremantle forgot what round it was but I was sweet and i was there jumping around when we won!
Worst Lose = Geelong round 19 L
Who will we get number 1? = Jack Watts
Thing you’re looking forward to the most in 09? = A fit Rivers, and Moloney kicking 70 meter kicks to hit Watts on the lead. Also Grimes running around.
I know is early but: Ladder Position 09? = 14th

Best Player 2008 = Brad Green (Brock McLean, even thou he played 13 games will still finish top 5 in the bnf)
Most Improved 08 = Coin Garland
Best First Year Player = Cale Morton
Most Disappointing = Matthew Bate, his hammy injury set him back this year, but has to often shown glimpses and not enough consistency. And to a lesser exten Jones, he has stuggled with No.1 Tag since brock got injured, but i am most disappointed in the detoriation in his skillss this year.
Best Win = Brissy was the best win there actually a half decent team. Worst Lose = Geelong round 19 L
Who will we get number 1? = Jack Watts, please!!!
Thing you’re looking forward to the most in 09? = Brock, Robbo, Moloney and Rivers all fit and hopefully wining some more games
I know is early but: Ladder Position 09? = 12th

Most Improved 08 = Col Garland, Matty Warnock, PJ, CJ, Buckley
Best First Year Player = Cale Morton
Most Disappointing = Yze when in, Bartram and Bell, and Rivers as I thought he was finally going to be over all that OP ****!
Best Win = Freo and Brisbane a close second. Sad that they're our only real wins for the whole season anyways
Worst Lose = Geelong and the opening round v Hawks as wasn't expecting a loss that massive at all
Who will we get number 1? = Jack Watts
Thing you’re looking forward to the most in 09? = Grimes, Maric, Watts and Petterd / Rivers back... plus Stefan Martin further cementing himself a premier FB
Ladder Position 09? = 8 -12th... I'll go with 10th

Worst Lose = Essendon, it s***s me that we lost partially due to umpires, the smashings were also terrible.

Thing you’re looking forward to the most in 09? = A fit team running round the park.
I know is early but: Ladder Position 09? = 15th, 4 wins so we will get the PP, I'm not insinuating tanking, however if it comes down to round 22 then I'd rather end up with picks 1/2 in the last proper draft.

Most Disappointing = Petterd (purely because I was looking forward to him playing after last year. Didnt happen)

Worst Lose = about 10 are in a tie
Who will we get number 1? = Naitanui
Thing you’re looking forward to the most in 09? = Hopefully some progress with our youngsters
I know is early but: Ladder Position 09? = 16th. Sorry we are SO bad.

Best Player 2008 = Brad Green. Really showed that he belonged in the leadership group. Is hopefully captain in 2009.
Most Improved 08 = Colin Garland. Honourable mention to PJ and Warnock
Best First Year Player = Cale Morton. HM to Stef Martin and Aussie.
Most Disappointing = Where do I start? Daniel Bell went backwards. Yze and Whitey well past there best. Moloney and Rivers more injury problems.
Best Win = Hard to choose. 2 of the most amazing wins I have witnessed in the Freo and Brissy wins. If pushed I would go for the Brissy win simply becuase of AUssies dad.
Worst Lose = Bulldogs round 2. It was embarrasing to get beaten like that for a 2nd week running.
Who will we get number 1? = Hopefully Jack Watts
Thing you’re looking forward to the most in 09? = Further development of the kids.
Ladder Position 09? = 13th. Hopefully we can manage 6-8 wins.

Best First Year Player = Aussie W.
Most Disappointing = Brock McLean. On and Off the field. This guy was put up a captaincy material. He is nowhere in the same league as Neeta, Flower , Viney...true champions all. McLean needs to get a professional attitude...quickly. Or he will be up for trade in the next couple of years.
Best Win = Freo...down by 50 + and to come back and win was fantastic.
Worst Lose = The floggings we received from Cats , Hawks & Bulldogs. Not hard to see why they are 1,2 & 3 on the ladder. It confirmed that we are light years away from being competitive with these teams.Embarrassing.
Who will we get number 1? = Hopefully anyone that can play more games than Grimes. Another embarrassment.
Thing you’re looking forward to the most in 09? = The performance of Bailey . Came in with big raps...so far been very dissapointing. Especially in his lack of coaching moves on game days.
Ladder Position 09? = 16th. The other 15 teams are way ahead in all fields...even Freo. Will take us at least 3 years to get off 16th. We will hopefully get 2-3 wins next year.

I know this is an opinion, but sh!t. I was going to reply to it all, but i think this will some it up.

You proved you know zero about football by saying that choosing Grimes is an embrassment because he hasn't played a game yet. Because if Grimes had played more games i'm sure we would've won more games... Players from the draft are all about their first year, doesn't matter how their career turns out or if they're seen as potential captains, if he doesn't play a game or more then 1 in his first year it's a fail. Lets just trade him now

Most Improved 08 = Colin Garland. In the space of a few weeks went from Zac Dawson to Dustin Fletcher go-go gadget arms.
Best First Year Player = Cale Morton, but only just - frankly disposed of the pill with grace of a hippo ice skater sometimes. Somebody put some meat on the poor boy.
Most Disappointing = Cam Bruce, contrary to some belief, he regressed horribly when he should have been standing up.
Best Win = Although I have Freo on the HD recorder, the brisbane match was great to watch.
Worst Lose = Geelong - flew all the way back from brisbane meetings and taxi'ed quick as to the ground to experience that shit.
Who will we get number 1? = Allegedly Jack Watts is the shiznit, but I'm not going to beat off over any draft picks until I wipe away the previous years shame off my rug.
Thing you’re looking forward to the most in 09? = Cale Morton to get fat, increased presence in the marketplace (brandwise), dead wood to be shipped, bailey's structure to finally click.
Ladder Position 09? = I'm going to go out on a limb and say 10th.

Grimes has been injured for most of the season (was placed on the LT injury list), and he wasn't our first pick in last year's draft anyway. On the whole, its a pretty futile comment.

McLean not captaincy material? Yeh he had a few issues earlier in the year, he then dipped into his own pocket further than any other player at our club to help erase our debt (Fairly professional attitude there I would have thought) and a few days later told Ch 10 that anyone who doesn't want to play for our jumper can piss off. Words of a leader I would think.

You've already written off Grimes? Please, get the **** off our board troll. I won't even begin to start on the idiocy of that.

You then go and attack Bailey about his coaching on game days. What would you have done differently? I mean Bailey has a very average list to work with but so far we've seen him blood Aussie and Cale with success, has finally got CJ playing like an AFL standard player and not to mention has shown us Garland and Martin will be defenders for years to come. I could go on but that's enough for now.
