has anyone else ever witnessed or been a part of these?
yesterday, a female staff member - let's call her "kath" - sent an email to all staff entitled "new company logo". it contained a pic of another female staff member - let's call her "demi" - laying down next to the company logo doing a goofy "chick off wheel of fortune"-like pose.
later that day, "demi" sent a reply aimed at "kath" to all staff demanding an apology and the pic to be deleted.

awwwkwaaaaaard....

but it gets better:

today a male staff member from our sydney office - let's call him "mitch" - replies, again to all staff, with an epic rant about his time being wasted by sifting through emails with "little office in-jokes and petty squabbles".

by this point i'm all like:

Due to the size of our firm, 'Reply All' is strictly verboten on mass emails.

Once we had a trainee on probation who thought it would be funny to send a really 'gay-sounding' email to all staff from someone else's computer. Needless to say he was out the door within about 15 minutes.

This famous email exchange got forwarded around to me at the time (as it did to most people in the Sydney legal & financial community):

With my work e-mail I instantly delete everything that comes in from someone who actually works there. I've missed a few policy changes and some meetings here and there, but at least I'm not reading a bunch of boring shit.

Also, they started a new e-mail spy policy and the I.T. nazis can read through any of our things any time they wish. So I subscribed to a lot of ridiculous newsletters like sauerkrautrecipes. com. Things like that and I leave all of it in my in-box.

Another thing I started doing is e-mailing myself from a different address to my work mail. I ask me, "Hey Mooster, what's new?" Then I respond with a loooooong boring story. The story always promises to end spicy, but never does. Just mundane droll minutae. Spy on that, mother****ers.

Yes, I have a lot of time on my hands. They stuck me on a night shift for three months.

LOL @ you trolling at work, respect.

They do that at school too, creep our emails :(

Sometimes they have mass crack downs, last term they looked at everyone sending emails during classtime and gave the lot of them detentions. About 100 people on detention that week :p

Another time, there was a mass email about a party most people were at on the weekend prior. Bloody filled my inbox :thumbsd: but was juicy atleast :thumbsu:. Some people got in some trouble for that one...
