Gee, I'm home early - bummer, but the friend i was with wasn't feeling well - so what can you do. But managed to have a very nice night of it all.
What can i say, it all went as predicted - good on ya Cogs. He really gave a nice speech - opened up more than i thought he would - up till now he has been a very shy character - so for him to get up and give the speech he did shows he is improving every day in that respect and I would expect to see him captain as soon as Weenie hangs up his boots.
No goss, cos there were so many people there - and it was just too hard to find out anything. Didn't even see Miller, so he was safe from me lol. Would have been nice to have a chin wag, but no cigar. Them's the breaks - but i'll track him down one day.
Found out something about players trip to NZ when Staff got into a bit of trouble. Seems he wasn't the only one. Apparently after fight, Staff shot through and when the police arrived, they spoke to Krak and Rodan and asked what had happened to him. They apparently said, he went that way - and of course he went the opposite way lol. From what i hear and can't verify, because who would tell you anyway, they were also charged with "allegedly" giving false information to the police - $400 i think was the fine each. No great goss, but good onya Andy and David lol.
Richo roast was pretty tame - no great embarrassments for Richo. Had Harro, Benny, Daffy and Cambo on the panel - should be on the Foxtel tape - because they were there. And when Tiffany Cherry gives here opening remarks about being at the Richmond B&F, check out the spunk going up the stairs as she speaks - moi - okay, maybe not but who gives a proverbial at this time of night.
Okay highlight for me was non-Richmond. But General Cosgrave was there to present the Jack Dyer Medal to Cogs. He was dressed in his "be seen be safe "RED" suit". I managed to get a photo of him and me - actually knew he wouldn't last long after the presentations were over, so i think I got a good scoop there getting my photo taken with him - hope it comes out.
The Cosgrave link is because he is the nephew of Bill Cosgrove, who our first year player award is named after - incidentlly won by Chris Newman this year.
Went to the Hyatt for about an hour, but then had to leave pretty early. A few players rocked up - so maybe anyone who was there could update me on what i missed out on.
Met up with a poster on another board - really good to see Koalalil and her husband - a really nice lady. Shame she has decided not to post any more, because i think she had absolutely good intentions - shame she feels like she does. Regardless, a really nice lady and glad I caught up with her.
Okay, I'm going to bed - that's the best I can do from an enjoyable evening - but can't give you more than that.
Cheers
