The saints have been the best team we played in Perth this year without a doubt. The scoreline in the end didn't really reflect how close the game was.

Xavier Clarke - How good is the kid!!!

I only heard it on the radio, but it seemed our skills were poor, especially in the forward line. After we lost the ball Freo would go straight down for a goal.
Anyway, there'll be more losses by years end but hopefully more wins too.

Exactly. they were hard to get over and never stopped.
Bright future for the Saints IHMO.

Lets hope they are the first team to break the Subi Hoodoo this year.

It doesn't look likely at this stage. Injuries to Hudghton and Kosi mean that we may have to play Gehrig in defence against the filth. Reduces our attacking options.

Thanks for your kind words, hope we get a chance to avenge ourselves in the finals.

Thanks freo people.

You created loose men very easily quite a few times & that cut us up severely. Your mobs' ability to get on their own & generally their use of the space at subi is very damaging.

The 'no-name' backline could well develop into a very useful unit.

Shame we don't have a return game in Melbourne this year as a chance to square the ledger.

He's talking about the first team to win the week after they play at Subiaco.

Not only can no-one win over there but they can't win the following week either.

Thanks for your words Ripper and FreoDocker. I was pretty disappointed with our performance but perhaps that's a bit of a sign of our improvement. We managed to hang in the game for all but the last 10 to 15 minutes. Thompson's easy miss and the umpires decision to call play on after Gehrig's mark hurt us as we couldn't bridge the gap to within 2 goals.

We won more of the ball through the midfield and had more inside 50's so it was a combination of our poor disposal and particularly Freo's impressive defence. The way the Dockers took the ball out of our defence was scary.

Good luck to the Dockers. I hope they can make the finals and if their current form can continue it is looking increasingly likely.
