To all those so called "supporters" who go jumping on and off depending on results week for week, message:

* We are not the Tuggers and therefore do not eat our own.

I am sick and tired of hearing the same guys bagging out the club, players, etc. whenever we lose only to praise them when all is good. Part of supporting a club is positivity when times are trying.

I am as pissed off as anyone and this has totally jammed my weekend but will not piss on the club when they are down.

We lost this game for ourselved today. Our disposal was shit, our decision making was pathetic and we couldn't mark to save ourselves. Free kicks kept us in the game. We didn't deserve to win today and our players deserve a big, big roasting, including Fevola and Betts.

I just finished watching the game about 20 minutes ago and I knew that we were going to lose in the first quarter. We just seemed to get worse and worse.

We have every right to be pissed with almost everyone on our team after our performance today. Fremantle were poor, and we made them look good. It's not about pissing on the club when it's down, it's about our players putting in half-arsed efforts that don't deserve praise, other than a select few players.

NEW CARLTON RULE: If you are shit, you don't handpass the ball.

Yeah seems that way, but still would like to hear it from the horses mouth.

It's a fine line really. I agree that total negativity after a loss does no good, but at the same time blind positivty does no good either.

Who are the bandwagoners?

While it's fair enough to feel disappointed, I think some on this board need to get some perspective. This team is not a premiership team; it is a developing side fighting to make the finals for the first time in several years. Along the way we're going to lose some we should have won and hopefully win a few as underdogs as well.

I am sorry to rain on your parade, but - yes we do eat our own, often viciously. And I have been seeing it here for over five years.

We are easily the worst on BigFooty in that regard in my view, if supporters of other clubs want a laugh all they have to do is look at this very board following a loss.

As a long-term supporter I find it both embarrassing and depressing. I really thought we would be better than that. You can still lose and handle it with a bit of class, without turning on your coach, your players, your fellow supporters and/or the club in general.

I really don't see what some of the ridiculous venting on here achieves to be honest.

At last, some perspective!!!!

Sorry, Pie Squasher, love your work and your tag but posters who frequent Bay 13 give up their right to complain about what goes on in there. Go play the pokies, mate. You can't win there either but you may not feel quite as insulted when your money has run out.

How bad is it over there, HH? Is being reigning premier a factor in the vitriol? I'm guessing affirmative.

I don't think it's a case of bandwagon! We were able to win each of our games this year, with Sydney probably being the only one where we were totally outclassed but still could've won.

Our team as talented as a few can be (Judd, Gibbs, Murphy, Kreuzer, Fevola, Waite) we have to be honest we are missing a "during game" figure head. Judd is a great off-field captain and gun on-field player, but when Fev fires we are usually always capable of winning because for some reason that 100kg fool has that ability to inspire every player when he's on.

When Fev is off, we're off. The strange thing was when Fev was off the ground in the rooms for 6 minutes we were settling okay... but when he came on and the team saw bad Fev, our opponents knew bad Fev leaves us susceptible, and our team psychologically can't handle bad Fev.

I'm no bandwagoner... but I'm annoyed:

  • Bad Fev was quite obvious early on after he came back on, why didn't the coach send him off the field away from the group. Or why did it appear as though no one spoke to him appropriately. It appeared to me our team was pissed at him and chose to ignore his leads for a reason.
  • We are a fit team and for some reason think this superior fitness means we can win the game in the last 10 minutes... FFS get a lead at some stage earlier!
  • Ratts knew we were off early, could see it in his frustration... but he kept playing in Freo's hands...
  • In all our games we've had more inside 50's and we just can't convert!
I hope we beat the pies, but if we perform as we did against Freo... do not blame us for being disappointed again. If we lose, but show heart and spirit and play for the jumper we'll be happy.

Great post, jj but I recall Carlton teams that did this most every game. Not every player and probably not every week but it seems not too much to ask of these buggers. Personally, I am over the "happy as long as we are competitive" crap. We are good enough to have won at least another 2 games. We didn't. Not happy.

The thing that shits me the most is the fact that people are whinging like we're a top 4 side or something. You're acting off all the hype that has been built up around us and not on FACTS. The facts are that we haven't come close to playing finals since Adam & Eve were hanging free.

Look at the cards on face value, not what are up our sleeves for crying out loud.
