**** sake.

If you think that we are not quiet at Subiaco games you are sorely mistaken, sedders is 100% correct. Our crowd is too quiet, sure there are a few of us here that go off our head at the games, but we are in the minority. Unlike at the few games I've been to involving two Victorian teams, the crowds get right into it, UNLIKE our crowds.

His injecting oranges quip was obviously just a light hearted joke, his main point being that we don't make enough noise at the game, and maybe alcohol can fix that.

You think this bloke will wanna come back here after about 5 people have dug into him after he has done hardly anything at all?

sedders, I hope you don't think that we treat all newcomers to this board like that, because we definitely don't, I just think you were sorely misunderstood by some people. I hope there is no hard feelings.

All people are welcome on this board, even Docker fans.

I'd liken this bloke to someone who walked into a party, said he thought the venue was shyte, insulted the host, picked fights with several of the guests and then played the injured innocent visitor from another town who used to live next door to the sister of one of the guests so thought he could come in and behave as he liked.

Heat - Kitchen etc.

FWIW, I have lived in Victoria and WA for roughly the same amount of time (say 7 years each) and have been to numerous football matches over that time. Generalisations are pointless. Mean nothing. Tell me how loud the Demons fans were at Optus in 1996 when there were about 6,000 of them and they lost by >100 points.

Everyone who knows me knows how loud I am. Just don't argue with me under a heading "Barracking for your team".

The party had a sign out the front "party in here, all welcome", i came in and said "this aint a party, how bout we drink some grog and turn on the stereo".

Five people, including the host say "no, thats lame, you must be from one on those crazy "disco" things".

"but guys, you dont wonna just sit on the couch, get up and dance."
"we know how to dance, how dare you say we cant dance, I'll dance your bloody ear off"
"please, dance, show me how you can"
"go back to your wierd "disco" party, you strange man you"
"but this is my type of party, I swear"
"no, you dont belong here, you've done nothing but start arguements, go away you hippie peacenick"
"all i said was lets put some music on"

and the music stayed off, the party was silent, the guests were bored.

Welcome to Woodstock.

did you bring the peace pipe.

Anyways, this thread was started by exiter saying the crowd at subi was dissappointing, everyone agreed, even suggesting that maybe lack of alcohol is a factor. So i say, yeah, the crowd sux, why dont you get tanked and yell up a storm, like we do in victoria, and everyone jumped on me, so i threw a few punches.

At least the party fired up a bit. Can i put the music on now?

Hi Sedders First welcome aboard from a person that also lives in Vic but is not from there. Just curious you obviously go to the games over here where do you sit by the way? With ordinary members or with the local cheer squad. I agree we are a noisy mob over here but from what I've read of fellow eagle supporters on this board they are not the ones being quiet at the games and scream and shout with the best of them with or without alcohol. They show plenty of passion in the way they write on this board which I'm sure they use at the games, good on them. We have quiet ones over here as well they sit there like vegies and would be better staying at home. It's just not footy if you don't barrack for your guys, give the opposition hell as well as the men in white or the colours that make them look like Wiggles is it. I will experience it first hand this week in Perth and I'm sure that the ground will by no means be quiet, you'll probably have to turn down the volume for this one.

Also Carly as you are now living in Tassie you would have went to the game in round 2 down there. If we play there next year how about coming over to the cheer squad area and we will take you out on the ground if you'd like I'm always looking for people to hold up the banner as not many cheer squad members will travel interstate.

One day to go and I will be in sunny Perth, at least I hope it's sunny. Either way I look forward to coming back to visit your beautiful city. GO EAGLES.

Thanks for the welcome.

At the Melbourne game at the G I sat with the cheer squad until it started raining, then me and my gf went up to level three under the southern stand roof.

At the docklands we sit up on level three under the score board, round section 23 i think. We usually try to sit near other eagles but away from people too old or too young so we can really cut loose. I dont know how to get tickets for the cheer squad region, i understand it's all reserved seeting.

At geelong i had to stand near some tent with a 1940s scorboard with some female geelong with a knitted jumper who recently escaped from jail yelling all sort of obseneties at everyone. that ground really sucks.

Perth is a beautiful city. If you go to kings park, let me know if that new walking bridge is open.

Ok ok!!! I'll help out....just email me or Pm closer to the time and I will do whatever I have to do to help out! Im excited now :D:D:D

Thanks for the welcome.

The common enemy in my eyes in collingwood and essendon. These bloody victorians who think that this is "our game" need to be spanked back into the seventies.

Go Eagles
Go Dockers
Go Adelaide
Go Port
Go Sydney
Go Brisbane

Hi Sedders the cheer squad members area at Telstra Dome And Geelong is usual reserved but I have been able to get people into the area especially at Geelong. At that match I was given 30 extra tickets so I went around the ground looking for Eagle supporters and gave them out to the ones who wanted them, of course nobody knocked back a free seat. The only thing is that as a cheer squad we have to abide by AFL and Club guidelines which mean we can't drink, swear stand on the seats or through balls at the umpires. Fines of $1000 are given out to any member breaching the rules for throughing balls at umpires or standing on seats. It's my job to ensure that no one breaks them which takes away the fun of the game. Another reason why I'm looking forward to saturday night as I don't have to follow or enforce any of the rules which is great. The AFL is taking the fun out of footy but it's people like Joffa from Collingwood who continue to break them that makes it harder on other squads who are well behaved. We are after all representing the club and our behaviour reflects back on them. You must have been standing right behind the cheer squad at Geelong as that old scoreboard is right behind us. I had fun after the game when some Moron Geelong supporters took on one of our members and I stepped in and told our guy to walk away. Unfortunately the morons from Geelong kept going and one of our player David Haynes got caught in the middle. Security became involved them and moved them on but they kept coming back for more until finally I told the guys to do their job and get them out of the ground. This happened near the players room. Being a Cheer Squad member is great and I consider it an honour being able to do something for the boys like helping to make the banners and taking them interstate. If you can abide by the rules why not join up next year as we are lacking members especially banner makers[there is only between 6 and 11 down there each time to make the banner] so think about it. Carly I will definately contact you should we play in Tassie next year as your help would be appreciated. As for going to Kings Park, I went when I was over there earlier this year and unfortunately because I'm only over for a few days won't be able to go there this time. I'm hoping to go to Fremantle to look around as I've heard it's a good place to visit. I'm sure them be other times for me to visit there and anywhere else interesting as my new partner comes from there.

Sounds interesting, wouldn't mind being in the cheer squad, but my gf will have to go on some anger management course if she were to join too. So how do i become a cheer squad member? any costs, commitments? So I guess you'd know that chick with the clipboard who we always see walking around before the games.

You could say that, the chick with the clipboard is me I run the squad. Tough job as I'm always busy but I wouldn't doing anything else it has it's rewards just being able to do something for the boys being the number one reason why i spend the season and the off season busy organising things for the squad. I'm the one person committee of the squad so it's time consuming. As for how to join, simple when you become a member just tick the cheer squad box and pay the extra money which this year was $29.00. This gets you a uniform if you can call it that, I'm trying to get something a bit better but it's not too bad, good seating at all games included plus guaranteed finals tickets. Plus you get to sit with a great group of people as I'm very proud of the squad. I'm one of the ones who starts the chants if you notice not just after goals but in between, I stand up and try to fire people up and yes I'm very passionate about what I do. I won't be able to start chants over in Perth this weekend as I'll probably look like an idiot but I'll still be barracking my heart out, believe me. As for your girlfriend needing anger management you haven't seen me fired up when someone hurts our guys or an opposition supporter bags them. I have to watch what I say because of my position but I still know how to put someone back in their place very nicely if you get my drifted. Why not join, come down to banner maker help make our great banners and go out and help hold them, it's a great feeling believe me. We are so organised we even have a finals banner finished if we need it over here or interstate. Because I am away this weekend we finished the banner last weekend. We even have a backing ready for the big one with a saying cut out if needed and will be getting a picture from a guy called Bodie made to put on it. That's how confident we are, we have never given up faith in our guys pulling it off and have told them this also. Bring on the derby and the finals it will be great.

Sorry about that I seemed to have posted twice, it's been a long day and tomorrow will be even longer as my plane is not leaving until 7.45pm Melbourne time. It's a long boring flight but worth it to visit Perth. This time tomorrow night i should be nearly arriving in your great city yeh.:)

NO WAY!! I've spoken to you. At the melbourne game, we were sitting to the left of the cheer squad and you invited us to sit with you, read over the rules from the clipboard and gave us yellow handout of the rules. Then you asked if we wanted to hold the banner, we kinda ummed and aaahed, and declined (I have only just converted my lady from a colliwobble this year and she hadn't broken it to her family yet). We thought lucky for us cos it rained for five minutes that day, and it was when the banner was up, thats when we headed to the comfort of the third level of the southern stand

Anyways, we will definately join the squad next year and get more involved for sure.

didn't that joffa guy get a makeover? what happened there? well you know what they say, you cant polish a ****.

Were you guys in the front row to the left, I can remember asking a couple of people around there. It was weird that day it absolutely pour rain just as we had to put the banner up but it had stopped before Melbourne did their's. It was a good win but I couldn't go to the aftermatch as I had to go to the Sydney v Collingwood game with someone from another cheer squad to make sure people were behaving the way they should. I was spewing as I wasn't sure if I'd be able to go to another aftermatch when we had won in Melbourne as it is a rare occasion. Then of course we bet Collingwood next game. I had watched that sh***y team lose two games in a row. As for Joffa nothing could help his image he is a real dropkick. The thing about him is that most of his cheer squad want him out as he has caused so many problems for them. Definately join next year as I said before we really need people especially at banner making as I'm sick of having to look for people at games to hold the banner up. My ex was Collingwood but my new partner is an Eagle supporter. He is in the squad as well where I'm his boss but then again I don't really need to boss any of the squad around they are great people. He will be with me in Perth as well as one of my daughters. My middle daughter was a Collingwood supporter until Jason Ball converted her after we beat them at the G one day. You should takeyour girlfriend to meet the players sometime she'd love it, that's if you haven't already. After all we do have the nicest and best players in the league. Out of my four kids the only one that hasn't become an Eagle is my son who stuck by Richmond, the team I sort of barracked for before the Eagles were formed. I could have gone for the Bears as I'm orginally from Qld but I like to be different and I've never regretted my decision. GO EAGLES.:)

Seren you might want to have a chat with your fellow cheersquad members here in Perth, you can't hear them. It could be because they sit down low behind the boundary fence, maybe they should look to moving if they can.
And Sedders might be too scared to introduce his girlfriend to the player, if you know what I mean. But I do agree compared to other players from other teams in general they are very nice(to the eye and ear)

Funny EagleEyed a few people have told that the squad over there is a bit quiet but take it from someone that runs one sometimes no matter what you do you just can't get others to join in especially when your losing. Which is sad really as we are called the cheer squad after all. Overall most members chant over here as I'm the main one who starts the chants and I try and make sure we keep on going whether we a winning or losing but especially when the other team gets a run on as it's important. I now have two great young guys 15 and 17 who are a big help on game day as trust me trying to go Eagles Eagles Eagles by oneself when your a female and other have to say Oi Oi Oi is'nt easy. Oh and for the record we do try and vary our chants. I'm sitting behind the squad this week so I'll be take a big interest don't you worry.
