A pretty solid piece on everyone's* man-crush (or just plain crush if you prefer), Jim Bartel

“The foot is fine. I actually feel like I have a bit of that power and strength back and am pain free.”
He spent three months in a moon boot and on crutches, but was able to find touch in three of the four NAB Cup matches.
This should help him spend more time as an attacking midfielder this season.

* May not actually be the case

Christ, surely the old man was an alco angle is done. He is clearly uncomfortable talking about it and the guy is dead. Leave it alone.
Actually, I thought it set up the article brilliantly. In that, the guy is balanced.

I love me some Jimmeh.
And Joel.
And T-Bone.
And Dingy Ling.
And... well alot more.

Good read.

From the more important character perspective, showed him to be a solid citizen.

From a sporting perspective illustrated how mentally strong he is. To finish where he did in the Carji while coping with such adversity last year was a fantastic effort.

Not surprising to most of us I guess, but good to have it put out there.

Love watching him play, fantastic player and you can't help but admire how he goes about his game.

My question for you guys is since his brownlow season, we've seen him in the midfield less and less (more so in the past couple of years), even with the loss of Ablett. Sure he's been fantastic in the swing man role he's played and probably better than most guys you could ask to play that role. However, he's a brownlow medalist midfielder, so why is it he hasn't played as a full time midfielder is so long? Never really understood that myself, in that the game is won/loss in the midfield and he's one of Geelong's best midfielders yet we haven't seen him play in that role for so long. I know he's had a few injuries injuries which may have held him back a little but it seems like it's been such a long time since I've seen him constantly start in the centre square for each bounce like he did.
