Ive asked NikkiNoo about this and she said it was ok to go for it! As the title says this is a thread to talk about all thingsAdelaide United (cant do that in the lions board, can I :p) Im hoping that doesnt become into a 'AFL better than Soccer & vica versa' slanging match - I would like to as if we leave that for another thread please!

Next Week United kicks of their campaign to exorcizer the demons of last years GF against the Roar in Qld next Sat Night! So far we have shown a newer and more attacking brand of Football which has delivered another pre-season cup! Keep you eye on Paul Agostino and Cassio in particular!
 
Gonna get my membership on Tuesday with a mate of mine (who co-incidentally is a poster on the port board, PAFCsince1870 haha).

I think the $7 we are paying to take out the title this year is extremely good value and am going to put a couple hundred on it for sure.

We have some awesome firepower this year and Jonas Salley is a huge improvement over anything Rees or Van Dommelle could conjure up last year. No Ross Aloisi is a plus, and Cassio looks to be golden boot material.

Ive paid for mine 3 weeks ago and hopefully I will get it by the times the seasons starts

I will have to bring the walkman with me as the first game for the season clashes with the only time Brisbane play at AMMI :( - unless we play port or crows in the finals. But thankfully its not a home game!

We have a charity game tonight vs the State team at 6.30pm and hopefully Ago will play - but ive got broncitis so im staying away :(
 
I got my membership today, very excited about the season ahead. Gets is right we have an awesome amount of firepower, the best in the league IMO and the defence is stronger. Ill go out on a limb and say Cassio will be the Player of The Year and we will once again be finals bound but this time we're going all the way.

I didnt get to a lot of games last season but Im looking forward to getting to most if not all of them at home this season as well as the Melbourne games (not sure how many we play there)..... bring it on !!!

i paid for membership @ NUJFC pre season game. Yet to arrive in mail.

Should be a great game.

I have many a things planned for Round 3 vs. Melbourne.
 
I am not a member or season ticket holder of Adelaide United but watch every game on Foxtel. Foxtel had the highlights of Adelaide United Vs Newcastle game on a few days ago and the united side is going to look a lot different.

There are some very exciting times ahead for Adelaide United and this may force me to try and go to some games this season.

We will be good this year - no doubt...

Salley is a tad overated. its not fair to compare him to rees or VD coz he is not a defender !! Van Domelle is actually woeful at local league level and how he got a gig il never know..

Cassio is class and Agostino wil be good value too

we should havea v good year.
 
Salley is a bit over rated but he is better than what we had. Has a bit of an angry streak too which we need to keep in check
 
Salley is nowhere near as overrated at Travis Dudd who is quite possibly the most overrated player in the whole league. I can't believe he was made vice captain.
 
I haven't got my membership yet but I will definitely pay up soon enough as I have always been a member. I'm ****ing pumped for the new season, we have a good team and I can't wait until Ago is up front. A few lads who are Bay 114 regulars also go to United games so it should be brilliant.
 
I got something in common with you Crows boys. They look really good to this point even thought its only pre-season.
Cant wait to see more of Cassio and Petta working together down the left side this season.

Ever since that goal on national duty he has been absolute pants.

A bit like Kieron Dyer really.

Runs a lot, rated by everyone, but doesn't actually do anything with or without the ball.

Provided Petta is fully fit for longer than 10 seconds stick him on the left and I wouldn't mind seeing Spaggers on the right.

As Dyertribe has mentioned ever since he played for Australia he hasnt been great but being vice captain isnt all about how good you are as a player, its about leadership qualities too. I was very surprised to see Ang not chosen as skipper but thats by the by. FWIW I think Trav will have a great year and hopefully get back to the form that saw him wear the green and gold.

Couldn't agree with this more, I thought I was the only one that was getting a bit over Travis, my main beef is his refusal to chase back like the other guys are prepared to do.

He worked a bit harder in the ACL but during the season he lacked a lot in that area unlike Spags, Owens and the others. Especially given how weak our defence was last season it was disappointing
