Nielsen is ordinary at his best but with a busted finger hes useless.
Probably needed a backup keeper in the squad

Should be batting at 10 or 11Batting at 9, WTF is he in the side for?
Shouldn’t be in the 11!Should be batting at 10 or 11
The reason they don’t come is there a million more T20 comps since the big bash started.First ever match for Adelaide Strikers:
Dan Harris, Klinger, Fergson, Blizzard, Crosthwaite, Borgas, Botha, Kane Richardson, O'Brien, Alfonso Thomas, Lyon
It's a bit of a folly when people say the big bash used to attract the big internationals.
Yes you had a few good West Indians and Sri Lankans back then but the main reason they don't come these days is that they don't exist these days. No Gayle, Murali, Malinga types playing for those countries full stop.

Just can't agree with you about Short.Adelaide Striker ratings because I watched the whole game last night:
Matt Short 9/10- dont blame him for the loss. Blame the players around him that couldn't feed him enough strike.
Chris Lynn 2.5/10-good on the mic but he looks like he has lost a yard of pace this season.
Mackenzie Harvey 1.5/10- bad in the field for his usual standards and failed with the bat.
Harry Manenti 6/10- continuing on his good form after representing Italy in qualifying for the T20 World Cup. Gets a higher rating , if he scores more runs.
Jamie Overton 3.5/10- did diddly with the ball, diddly with the ball but was good in the outfield.
Wadia 8/10- Adelaide have found one in this young gun. Can bat and bowl.
Lloyd Pope 7/10- good with his wickets and genuinely was a threat with the ball.
Luke Wood 6/10- picked up 2 wickets and was run out by his partner. A little bit expensive with the ball but you sense better bowlers will go for more than 10 an over at the GABBA.
Hasan Ali 6.5/10- a bit like Wood picked up 2 wickets but bowled with a slightly better economy.
Tim Nielsen 6/10- tidy behind the gloves but if he is in your team as a number 9 he has to be batting better than that. If it wasn't for his dad, he would be a no body.
Liam Scott 6/10 - didnt fire with the bat and probably should have got more bowling.
63 off 39 with a strike rate of 161. 3 overs with the ball for 2 wickets conceding 13 runs.Just can't agree with you about Short.
They only needed 8 an over from the last 4 overs with 5 wickets in hand and he threw it away.
Caused
the collapse.
Terrible match awareness from the captain.
I'm not saying Short didn't have a great game.63 off 39 with a strike rate of 161. 3 overs with the ball for 2 wickets conceding 13 runs.
Understand your point, but to put the blame on him for the loss would be wrong. Adelaide as mentioned by a few analysts in the beginning of the season, batting is their weakness.
Overton im pretty sure would be batting at 8 or 9 for England. Wadia is still an unknown at this level. Other teams have better number 7,8,9s in the comp. Think of : Thunder, Hobart and Renegades.
Not often you see these really quick young kids come in to the big bash and already have the extra tricks to go along with the pace. Pretty impressive changes of pace, slower balls, and slower ball bouncers. Seems to have a cricket brain as well as the pace. The Balkin kid on debut bowling 140+ clicks is a guy we might need to keep watching.
I only saw his last 2 overs but thought Balkin was very impressive.
Nielsen surely has to be the worst player to play 50 BBL games, right? His average (18.64) is poor and it still flatters him – his average contribution per game is less than 9 runs.
